The Krait looks like sh*te with the metallic paint jobs! Can you please fix that, Frontier?

Brand new Krait turns to rust in the store?
The paint shop fails to do proper prep before painting it?

Remember, we have the option to not repair our paint, for those who like an old, ratty looking ship. Which I endorse, some ships look great with the run-down look.
But it should remain player's choice.

I'm not buying paint jobs when the ship looks like crap anyway.

And while I'm ranting - can you finally give us some sensible amount of paint job color in the cockpit? That would really make them more useful for the average player.
I know, YouTubers get some use out of them anyway. But I - run-of-the-mill commander do not...

Give me a reason to buy this stuff, will you, FD?

To be fair, in my opinion, it's not the paint that's to blame.
True, its the ship texture that somehow rears its ugly head on metallic, while it looks pretty ok in plain white or black!

But regardless of the reason - If plain, cheap white looks better, because the metallic is messed up for whatever reason, guess what I'm not buying...
Most other ships don't have the problem the Krait has.

The old, worn look is a feature on DeLacy and Lakon ships. If you want a new looking ship, you need go to Core Dynamics, Gutamaya, or SK. Or if you really have taste, ZPG.

Meh

I sit inside...

Well, that is the exact reason Frontier wouldn't like very much, because by that stance, paint jobs won't sell very much.

And if you don't buy paint jobs, because "you sit inside" or any other reason, kudos to you, you got it right :)
It really doesn't do jack sh*t for anyone but YouTubers...

It looks a lot better when you wear it away a little :)

Only 60KLy and very ratty, I like it!
Like an old guitar!!

Now that I think of it, the Krait is fairly suitable as an electric guitar body...
(so long as you wear it on a strap)

But at any rate, YOUR example is player choice. The factory defects are not, I will not pay them money for that.

Not true. I have plenty of DeLacy ships that have no surface or paint defects whatever. Lakon, I don't buy, so I wouldn't know about those.

I have it and I hate it. Apollo white for the lack of anything better. Though that black Christmas one... can't wait to save enough money on that account to try it.
There are some ships, that look sorta crappy with any paint job except a flat color - and often, only a flat white or black works ok.

Certainly with the Krait, that is the case - I have exactly 2 paints for it: black and white. I somewhat prefer the white - at least in the hangar.
And with the white, the Krait's surface looks perfectly flawless.

But put the metallic on and its grime time...

Yeah that's the best fit for many ships. If you haven't already try chrome. That's the only one I was considering for the krait this year, but I've bought way too much for it already it missed the cut. Chrome looks very nice in game compared to the showroom. Picked up chrome for type 10 and 7 this year extremely happy with both.

If you got a gold one and don't like it id recommended putting in a ticket soon to get it swapped!

I don't know if the issue is with textures on the panels themselves as the Golden PJ for the Phantom has 'rough' patches in the same areas when the paint is pristine.
My example is the current state of the paint following a trip to Beagle Point, when I get back to Carcosa it'll be 'repaired' and the textures will be there on the same panels. I don't know if the paint is at 0% yet but it won't be far away if not :)

I think the Krait II has 'patches' too, I'll check on my alt :)

Krait guitar could be very much fun!

I bought the Iridescent Dusk PJ for my Phantom last year. Have to say I don't like it either, but I think it's due to the shape of the ship because a flat pizza slice doesn't reflect the light well enough to make it 'pop' like it does with other ships with more angular surfaces. The MNB paint also looks a bit rubbish due to the aliasing issues for the panel 'lines' across the ship being a lighter grey colour.

However, I bought the Chromed PJ for the Phantom (my current explorer, wanted Chromed for the AspX at first, had no patience to wait for it and ultimately decided I don't enjoy flying the AspX enough to justify the price) and it does look very nice indeed.
