Hello Commanders, have any of you wanted a faster and easier way to view the systems? With 2D Galaxy Map you no longer have to stop in place and find your location or route.
Anyone can navigate the elite galaxy map through another screen or separate device such as a phone or tablet.

I hope you all find this useful and please leave me feedback on what you think.
This is currently version 2.0 and there is a lot more to come!

About the Program -
2D Galaxy Map is a interactive two dimensional grid based map used for Elite Dangerous 1.03
Version 2.0 has a total volume of 4,896,000 Ly's of space and has 275 star systems mapped

past few weeks ive tried to find a map online or some third party program. this is perfect! awesome job, cant wait to see more!:D

Great to hear, shall be checking the site often and updating as you update the map. This is something I myself shall use often :)

A good idea and nicely done. I wonder though if it is realistic that the whole galaxy can be displayed in such a way? The 500 systems in Beta 2, no problem. But when I open the galaxy map ingame and I scroll up and down, there are so many systems right 'on top' or 'below' each other, I don't see a way to arrange them on a 2D map. What are your plans? Do you see a way to do this?

I have many blank sheet that will begin to connect like a jigsaw puzzle, this initial sheet which include all the
sectors within -90 : 60 : 50 all the way to 70- : 20 : -30 which equals out to 612,000 Ly's of space. Long story short the image will become larger and larger while the zoom in scale will be increased to 300% (currently 150%).

This is great work. It be wonderful to have this on a tablet next to my Mac for reference. The in-game 3D map is beautiful, but this is much more functional. Thank you!

Thank you, I'm working on a website as of now. The program already has complete functionality for phones and tablets and I have the code all written.

This is great.

My understanding is that the galaxy is server driven, one could hope that Frontier Developments could release an IOS/Android app to broose the known universe as a payware side project.

That's a good idea, I hope they do that as well. Id wish for a desktop version but none of that seems too likely. Like most games, people do a good job as third party programers to develop there own content.

Version 1.4 Released

Version 1.4 is out now, I just uploaded them before heading to bed. I want to thank everyone for supporting my first build, today I reached 941 views and 252 downloads. From all the support and approval I've received today this will certainly become my off duty project for a very very long time. I enjoy what I'm doing with 2D Galaxy Map and I hope the content I bring to you guys is exactly what your looking for. As of right now my next release (Version 1.5) is scheduled for next week.
