Discussion INARA and EDDB are useless and unreliable [SOLVED - player needs Horizons]

Theres been many times not just ships, but commodities as well.

Whats to prevent prople from giving false data to INARA and EDDB.

You are talking rubbish. Market data changes moderately quickly, even very quickly for certain items and during CGs etc. Equipment data changes much more slowly.

You must remember that people don't manually send data to the EDDB (where the sites' info is derived from) this occurs when certain apps (EDDiscovery, EDSM, etc) interrogates the station data and submits that to the EDDB. So EDDB is not fed "live" info from Frontier about markets etc, it relies on people using things like EDSM for the data - that is why the age of the information is variable. Certain commodities of course might not be listed at all in a station commodity market even though if you have some of that item in cargo it will then show a price (of course that is mainly items you won't see as you don't have Horizons ;)).

In summary then, your ill-informed ravings about these sites really should see you now make an apology for your misunderstanding and noob error rather than you seek to further denigrate the good work of volunteer players with your spurious incidental incorrect suppositions.

Quoted for truth.

What a non-sequitur question! What standard should the players, who created these tools for FREE and continue for years to maintain them for FREE uphold for your satisfaction? They all ask for donations, almost nobody ever donates, how much have YOU donated to the creation and maintenance of any of these tools?
You do not have "high standards". What you have, is an inflated opinion of yourself. BTW if you have Horizons you can get a Type-10 at Jameson Memorial Station in Shinrarta Dezhra system.
PS: Learn some spelling and grammar. We have standards, too.
EDDB is so useful. I was looking for Void Opals. Found a system with 7 icy ring planets(EDDB said they all had hotspots) Guess how many actually had hot spots? Just one. How is it so wrong???

Your ignorant dismissal of the tireless work of a lot of very talented 3rd party devs is frankly rather offensive. It isn't surprising that you aren't getting further help, as they have probably added you to their ignore list, as I am now doing.

Edit: Happy New Year.

So why does EVERY mining video on youtube say go to EDDB and search for systems with icy pristine rings?
You need icy rings (higher reserve level is better) so they tell you how to find them. Maybe there is a tool out there which let you search for hotspots but I'm sure it won't meet your standard.
It clearly isn't EDDBs fault but you just keep blaming it.
If you wanna make big money you just have to put in the work yourself.

But do any of them say there will always be hotspots? They don't because hotspots are generated by stellar forge and placed randomly. You can get hotspots in any kind of reserve. What hotspots do is they increase the value of the base reserve, so a depleted+hotspot is better than a depleted and a pristine+hotspot is better than a pristine. They say go to pristine because it's the best base, but you'll still have to find the hotspots yourself. Or you can just go the already known and recorded hotspots.

How is it not EDDBs fault? A few times I scan the rings and not a single hotspot. What is the EDDB/bodies thing for?

You search for icy rings and you got icy rings. I allready told you that it (EDDB) doesn't store hotspot data. You have to scan the rings yourself to find hotspots. Even in icy rings without any hotspots you'll find opals, just with a lower probability.
