General Idea for Squadron End-Game, Squadron Controlled Mega-bases

This is just an idea that I had when I stumbled upon a thread about someone talking about having players buy Megaships for late game, I feel like having it be Squadron orientated would be a better/more realistic idea.

In order for a squadron to create a megaship they would have to have BGS control over a system and then they would have a mission where they would contribute funds and resources in order to meet a specific goal and then they get a Megaship within that system, only 1 megaship per squadron though.

Megaship's could have the general stuff like Shipyard, Outfitting, Missions etc... The megaship's should also be able to move system's once per day to another eligible system (The Squadron has majority of BGS control)
A squadron should be able to upgrade megaship's as well, which would unlock more modules and ships to be created at the Megaship, sort of like they can unlock more stuff available at that mega ship.
If a squadron where to not become the primary BGS force in a system then the megaship would still stay there but Outfitting and Shipyard costs would increase by 5% and upgrading would take longer/more resources.

This would probably increase the amount of end game activities by a lot and would also bring the aspect of a more player-controlled galaxy.

Fleet Carriers were originally pitched as a squadron feature similar to what you describe. Can't be sure why they changed over to individual FCs, but maybe it was unclear how a squadron would control one in a way that would be equitable to squadron members.

If you now want squadron megaships, how would they function differently to fleet carriers, and how would a squadron command it beyond, say, the squadron leader does everything?

Squadron Megaships would act more as a station that a squadron could control, the upgrades would be prioritized by the Squadron leader but it can also be a members vote for it type of democracy system. The reason I pitched a megaship and not a station is the fact that stations are immobile and do proboly cost alot more resources to create compared to a megaship.

One of the only cons that I can think of is a squadron leader going rouge and kicking every member and keeping the ship for themselves but that would be a stupid move and it wouldent make any sense other than to just be toxic. There still are a few problems with this idea but I feel like they could be ironed out, especially considering that this game has a pretty good and helpful communiuty and alot of squad leaders wouldn't want to damage there reputation.

There is no Endgame.
Where do you go after the megaship, a moon?, a planet?, perhaps buy a system?, at what point does a player say "that's it I've won... I've got the Endgame stuff" if the game is still on the servers.

Can't work, because you're conflating squadrons and factions.

Squadrons don't control anything in the bgs... and any number of squadrons can pledge to a single faction. Pledging does not confer any ownership.

Squadrons = a group of like minded commanders pursuing a common goal
Factions = entirely npc entities.

Player owned structures, as in bases, would be great.

And why not make it so player minor factions can buy moons, planets and even systems? As long as they can't start buying up massive swathes of interstellar space I don't see the issue.

Yah, I see, Sorry, But players/squadrons can create Mini-factions
