Going for a drive, what could possibly go wrong?

Hello CMDR's,

Today I wandered over to the Witch Head nebula, because I heard tales of strange aliens and their alien ways. Anyway, after being shot at lots of times by said aliens (I only wanted to be friends) - I decided to land on a nearby planet and do a bit of driving around.

The trouble is, I'm an idiot. I present to you my adventure.

Has anyone ever managed to successfully ride their ship into orbit after lodging their SRV on top of it? I would imagine it would get thrown off during the vertical ascent and boost, but I'm sure someone here has attempted it!

One question I have, I didn't notice until I was editing the video. Right at the end when I jump away - the jump status stuff flashes wanted and says I'm entering a new region that I'm nowhere near.

Is this a bug, or have I discovered a portal to Raxxla?

Yes, apparently it wanted to land by first flying through a cliff face. Which really dinged up the paintwork I can tell you.
