No idea, I'm OK with delays so I couldn't even guess. Delaying fleet carriers isn't something that would effect business that much since its a free update so its not really a massive generator of unit sales.

It probably made a few people claim they wouldn't buy any more paint/ARX temporarily for whatever that's worth.
The forum was on fire, you were here, you're just making light of it. Yeah we got over it fast but it still happened. Ill bet you 10 VO it gets pushed back again for whatever reason

Cant wait for all the hate when we dont get what we weren't promised
I'd be delighted if they announced that spacelegs and bases weren't coming, but new SRVs, mission content/stuff to do and atmos/gas giants instead.

It's a bit like playing the lotto, the chances are incredibly small and it's highly unlikely you'll get what you want, but you can keep hope up until you check your ticket.

FWIW, I'm actually quite open minded towards New Era and will be happy with pretty much anything at this stage. If they could just tell us even ballpark what to expect.

I would like space legs and Base building but it's not going to keep me from playing. Lots of games have that type of stuff, really fun games. Those aren't the reasons I play Elite, but I would certainly welcome them. I play Elite dangerous because, as I've seen someone else say a good few times and separate threads, I like flying spaceships

Rather than lets plays I would prefer A Dev explaining how something works.
Especially if its getting changed or if its been changed.
And dont cram everything into a single stream split them into sections there are 52 weeks in a year so plan ahead and have 52 pre planed streams about how bla bla works.
If they cant come up with the Ideas ask the community to create how ever many "how to`s" they need.
And only answer questions from chat at the end in an AMA.

For example the BGS could be quite a few separate streams. All split into sections. and if it gets updated or changed re-do the streams.

Ah of course, my comment was somewhat tongue in cheek, just saying I'd prefer one over the other in terms of priority but it's not a biggie regardless, as long as something does actually arrive (that's worth paying for, which I hope/presume it will).

That is still what they do on Thursday evenings. Lunch streams are just 'let's play' - room for both. It would be nice if they would get their act together around the evening streams - if PZ etc can put out a monthly schedule each month I don't see why ED can't.

The forums always on fire and I'm always making light of it. You'll need to find someone bothered enough to remember specifics if you want them, I just like the video game.

It might get delayed it might be early it might be right on time, whichever way its a gift horse to me so I'll be having fun with it rather than examining its teeth when it turns up.

It'll trigger another forum meltdown no matter what happens which is the only certainty really.

No, not when that was done in direct response to a well publicized and popular (if misguided) demand from a lot of players that they delay new content for bug-fixes which is where we are right now.

Can you give a link to this well publicized demand?

I still firmly believe FD was just being opportunistic using that open letter in their argument to postpone it. I still firmly believe they weren't ready and would've been pushed back regardless.

Well, obviously. They lost more than a month of development time just for fixing the borked September update, no way they we're still on schedule for December and had to postpone to 2020 anyway.

Personally I don't want reveals every livestream, I want them to stick to the advertised topic, that's all.

Yesterdays was supposed to be a reset, something I did tons of times on the old game, so was very interested. Also just bought the game for ny newphew, would this stream be the one I could recommend?

First 2 minutes, Paige on topic, awesome and interesting Next 10 minutes, turned off, wont be recommending to anyone.

Just stick to the topic, ignore the chat comments that are irrelevant its that simple, the more you ignore them the more relevant they will become, the more you spend 10 minutes and more every time the more they will get asked. The more you feed it the hungrier it gets. Just have a plan of what to tall about and talk about that and have different livestreams for different subjects....oh you already do that, or at least advertise them as such so just please do it.

I feel like Paiges mood often deteriorates during livestreams in reaction to the comments.
Whereas the Stehpen guy appears very bubbly and happy, unfortunately I can't make out what language he is speaking.

agree with everything except i don't even play the lotto.

but this is the first release after all the fuss. whether opportunistic or sincere it should really show strong commitment and some results. tbf the quick beta wasn't a good omen. and the venerable tradition of including changes and additions in a patch release has continued, greeting players with wild stuttering because of an optimization of the generation process just sneaked in ... so that has definitely not changed. and it should have.

For the new DLC the hype hasn't even started yet.
Which demand are you speaking of?
The reduction from FDev of new content, Galnet news and CGs, happened before the Community Requests were posted. There were many complaints throughout 2019 of how threadbare the two main updates (April & September) were of new content.

Meanwhile, the Community Requests didn't campaign for "no more new content until bugs get fixed".

Feel free to read it again if you want to check what was being asked for:

You're better off... I'm always thinking the downer after realising you still have to go to work the next day for the next 20 odd years isn't really worth the hope you buy with that fiver each week.

It's only perceived as a problem by some people. If they release early information exactly the same people will not be able to cope with any subsequent (and probably inevitable) changes. Others are fine with the roadmap as already laid out.

There's also marketing to consider releasing information too early means the hype dies down which is bad for the bottom line.
Yes of course but some general information would not be annoying.

Like and without going into details, "Yes we work on the planets with atmosphere" or others ...

The total locking is not a good thing.
