Patches to fix patches

I don't think what they do is about fixing bugs - I think it's about hoping to move bugs to less exposed area.
For every issue they try to correct there's some other part that starts to malfunction.
I think they call it success when they don't cause more bugs than they tried to fix and the new ones aren't gamebreaking.

A bugs a bug, they happen, but REGRESSION bugs, thats another face-palm. I'm looking at you Combat Zones!

Yeah, there seem to be at least one of these every patch. Seems very odd to me, but probably makes a lot of sense in the environment they work in.

Think it usually takes FDev about 2-4 patches for every release/update/major patch to get it somewhat right.

If they tested the releases then I think they would need less patches.

In fairness, most players would probably be fairly happy with that as well.

I mean, there were some complaints that the Beta was "too short", but really either a bug is obvious enough that it gets picked up by lots of people in the first 6 hours, or it's not actually all that important for having a release that players feel was successful.

If only they'd run a Beta - a one day one would have been enough! - for the final pre-release code, not just the "one month before" code... I can only assume that there's a whole bunch of extra hassle around their Beta environment that makes them very reluctant to use it and would slow things down by quite a bit more than just a few days.

Paint my cowboy hat white, but don't you think showing gratitude for good things (like updates and patches that fix bugs) might encourage Frontier to do it MORE? I mean, I'm not a psychiatrist or anything, but it seems like common sense to me.

Here, I'll show you how it's done. "Thank you Frontier for finding and fixing the stutter bug so quickly! I look forward to next week's patch as well. Keep them coming!"

If you keep kicking your dog even when he behaves, eventually he's going to run away from home and never come back...
