Pirates, where do you sell your cargo?

Greetings cmdrs, I am fairly new to piracy and I was wondering how do you find stations to sell cargo.

Since i had an unfortunate incident, where i had to kill an enemy target, my notoriety went to 1
Then i went back to my business and I proceeded to pirate a ship; now I am in the situation where anywhere i dock i can't do anything becouse of my notoriety
should i just wait for it to expire? how do you manage that?

What if you have no notoriety? Do you just choose the nearest station (with the highest price available)?

Any tip would be appreciated.
Sincerely.

PS
I know, pirates do not kill, I'm just into powerplay too, so I attack players pledged to other powers. Maybe mixing the two make things too hard.

Hi,

You can't interact with stations where the controlling faction has bounties out on you.

Find a station with a black market, which doesn't have a bounty on you - This place won't have a bounty on you, notoriety only stops you from removing bounties at Interstellar factors, it doesn't stop you from interacting with stations by forcing you to dock with anonymous protocols. The bounty that faction has on you stops you interacting.

Anarchy systems are useful for this, as it's EXTREMELY unlikely you will get a bounty with an Anarchy faction. (it should be impossible, but there may be some edges cases where it can happen)

These places are highly likely to have a black market too (again some edge cases can likely make this untrue)

In short, try going to an anarchy controlled space station.

Don't worry about notoriety here. That's just a timer for when you can pay off your bounties, assuming you can be bothered. Accidents happen and it's only when you get to about 7 that ATR arrive. Then just jump out and back in the system (they will pester you again once you commit enough crimes each time you jump in any system). Don't mess around if you see those guys though, just leave.

Best thing to do is base yourself out of an anarchy station. That way the black market and IF are already sorted out. Additionally, the influence you generate by supporting the controlling anarchy faction with selling at the black market will help keep the anarchy faction in power and the black market open.

If you didn't already know, the big money is made by pirating ships with mining gear in boom agricultural systems. Targeting drive modules with seeker missiles once you've knocked down the shields and bumping a ship to a stop makes it easier when collecting cargo, although letting the ship drift a bit from where the initial bounty was applied can be helpful as that's where system security spawn. If you've put some distance between you and that spot, you give yourself additional time to loot the victim's hold before they catch up.

Thanks. I'm more into pvp piracy anyway.
I went to the nearest anarchy system and I found they were buying void opals for ~87.000 should I sell for a price so low? Or are there ways to find better markets? I feel like I'm missing something.
Cheers.

Good stuff, I'll certainly wish you the best of luck acquiring your cargo in that case.

The website Inara.cz tends to be good at finding prices in the area. If you go to the market tab and enter your system, scroll down to the commodity data and select void opals, then select best sell, you'll get a list of all the stations where you can sell them for good prices. The station icons with skulls next to them have a black market.

Also remember that, so long as the station you dock at isn't controlled by the faction that has a bounty on you, you will have full access. Bounties are jurisdiction specific.
And no, don't sell void opals for that low! (though things have changed somewhat in the new patch I think, so I'm unsure what is a good price anymore, but very sure that is WAY too low.)

If it wasn't mentioned previously, you can find an Interstellar Factor and clear everything.

That's the scared Commander's way out. 🙂

Be brave, OP. Keep your credits and your dignity. I've not paid my bounties and have had bounty hunters come after me. I'm here to post about it. They.....are not. ;)

ITS A TRAP! DON'T ANSWER!

This is obviously an undercover system security agent or other such law officer. The poster is looking for lawbreakers to confiscate their "liberated" goods. Revealing the locations of your black market stations will only embolden these "Coppers"!

Lol! Sorry I just had to :)

I've learned in my short pirating career that silent running and heat sinks are your friends that help gain access to stations when your cargo is "less than legal" so to speak.

Sell your goods anywhere you hate the faction in charge and they have a BM (but not anarchy)- smuggling is the BGS bomb. Conversely, BMs help anarchy factions, so if you like them, go for it :D
