How long do wars last now (Jan 2020)?

All the people talking about progress bars disappearing have mentioned it happening after the spec ops objective is finished, so I'm curious if it's related to the similar bug that came about when CZ scenarios were first introduced, where progress bars would vanish after you routed a capital ship. Try fighting in low intensity zones instead - personally I prefer to do that anyway when I'm doing massacres, just bounce between two low zones until I'm out of ammo, then go restock and cash in.
After a couple of dozen CZs I'm fairly certain that the scoreboard disappears as soon as a friendly ship is killed, which includes your fighter if you have one. If you can complete the CZ with no friendly losses it ends as normal.

Oof. Doable, but it means a lot of aggro-management outside of a low zone.

This thread is producing some great material! Regarding the issue of what works to capture a war, all the missions cited have combat as their theme. So, it seems that if it's combat-themed, regardless of whether it's a zone, mission, scenario or bounty hunt, they will work toward a war, but non-combat themed varieties most likely will not. Those will work toward elections. Good stuff, Maynard!

This progress bar issue is a real bummer. A lot of the people I've talked to keep writing it off as the "capital ship went a splode" related issue, but what I'm seeing is consistent with what others in this thread have speculated; it's the moment a friendly dies.

Not sure if this was said yet but conflict zones are broken and battles can't be won. Wars last 7 days but you can't complete CZs. your best bet is to go to the minor faction involved in the war and do assassination missions for them
