Sorry to bother everyone again, but trying to get my head around this too. To get the engineer unlocked you have to turn up with the required amount (100,000 or 1 mil) of uncashed combat bonds and hand them to the engineer. Do the combat bonds have to be got from any particular system or area or will any do? Can they be obtained any way or just from missions? So hanging out at res sites and blowing away pirates counts? Thanks.
Its how i did it, as i was very unsure on the whole cz thing at the time when I did it.Ah, I wondered about that.
Went off and killed a bunch of scouts. Does not need many in reality.
You can also pay it off piecemeal so you do not have to do it all at once if you do not mind the travelling.
Is this for Juri Ishmaak? I'm almost done with him (i got sidetracked doing the 5000ly trip for the Prof), he's taken any combat bond i've taken him. Just go to a nearby CZ and pick a side and kill enough of the other side and you're good to go.
