Please make the random boxing of animals STOP

I nearly lost my mind. I just made a big walk-in habitat with both lemurs. The animals' welfare is 100%, the guests are happy, but the random boxing just won't stop. I observed the habitat for a few minutes now to see what would cause it (I know it happens with other animals too when you place something near them, but you unbox them and that's the end of story). The lemurs just got put into boxes for no reason. Literally NO REASON, one after the other. Even though I experienced it with pretty much every other animal I've had so far at least I know what causes it, even though it's clearly a bug.

But the lemurs. Oh my god, please fix this. I cannot babysit the lemur habitat and wait for them to get boxed up. If the problem persists when I load up the game next time I'll have to delete the whole habitat. I can't play like this.

Anyone got a fix especially for the lemurs? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I feel your pain -.-

Don't think there's a fix yet and each update that was supposed to make it better actually made it worse (at least in my case) I rarely had problems with this in the beginning but then the update that was supposedly fixing this issue came and here we go, boxes, boxes everywhere...

TBH at this point I think it'd be best to simply give us the option to turn auto boxing off completely. I actually don't even know why it's in the game in the first place. I mean if an animal escapes the vet goes after it or I click to capture it manually and if I want them moved or boxed I can do so manually, too. So why? Why is this auto boxing thing even there? All it does is annoy people for no reason and nothing else.

Lemurs have been an issue since beta, happened during beta a lot.
Don't think there's an easy fix for this.. Check the barriers if an item is somewhat clipping or too close.
Some habitat issues happen because the items/scenery/foliage is too close to the barrier - at least an option to try.

With other animals:
It happens a lot more with my old zoo (recently useable again)
When I adjust the habitat (add enrichment item/change height) it happens as well.

Oddly I haven't had any issues with my lemurs being boxed yet. I had put off getting them after reading all the issues people were having with them. I did have one walk through a wall the other day but otherwise so far so good. I probably just jinxed myself now. I have a very large enclosure with a both species with a good amount of trees but no climbable trees near the walls. I built all the climbing items and there is room around each. I think that sometimes the animals are boxed when the climbing animation causes them to go into another object or underground. I wish I knew what I've done exactly that I've had good luck with them so far.

If you have made a walk in enclosure have you checked to make sure there is nothing that the game could interpret as being a potential for the animal to escape (i.e. are the barriers all set up correctly, is there a walkway from one habitat to the other which the game could view as an animal out of bounds)? Do you have a screenshot of the habitat at all?

It happens in almost all my habitats.... Seems like the only way to avoid it is by having a completly flat habitat with no items whatsoever, and I don't think the animals would like that... If you have any foliage at all, the animals gets boxed. and if you have enrichement items like the rubbing plank thing (no idea what it's called in english), the animals gets boxed when trying to use it. And if you change enrichement items in the habitat, even if they are not even closed to them, they get boxed. And if you create some new habitats on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ZOO almost all animals in the zoo gets boxed. Ye, getting pretty annoying...

A bit curious, does this happen with your day1 zoo, new zoo or all zoos ??
And do you have normal barriers or a null-barrier created habitat ?

For me, it happens more with my oldest (day1) zoo.. And most times with In my newer zoos (created in December/January) almost none.
Sometimes when I start up my zoo...

I think this would help a lot with a lot of issues. Maybe we can spot something that conflicts with the habitat?

animals are also boxed sometimes, when you edit a path in a completely different part of the zoo. in that case, there is also a issue, where some workers just cause the alarm, that they cant find a staff-room, until they walk in that staff-room right in front them (the alarm then disappears). it seems to me, that it happens with everything, that is using a water-pool or a climbing area or using paths, if you change something. maybe in that cases everything path-like is recalculated.

All of the zoo's I'm playing right now I started in dec/jan, so they are all "new" zoo's. I only have normal barriers in all zoo's

Hey all! Thanks for your feedback on this. Just wanted to let you know that we're finalising an update right now which we aim to have out this week. This update will include automatic unboxing when an animal has been boxed by the game, but the unboxing will only happen when the animal is safe! Once this update has been released, please come back to this thread and continue giving your feedback on this issue! :)

@Chante Goodman , i was wondering if the issue with the hunger/thirst of the guests also wil be fixed in the upcomming update? i mean.. when i have 3 habitats and 10 food/drink places they still complain about hunger thirst :( how much shops do i then need when i have a full zoo with 58 habitats, and all the other exhibit animals..

That seems more like a workaround than a fix to me. I also hope it won't mess up the happiness of guests or their other strats when they "see" an automatically boxed animal with this workaround patch.

I'd rather have a working workaround while they still work on a fix, then nothing at all :)
