I just discovered the Viper MKIII !

Which seems like a really odd thing to say seeing as I've owned 8 for well over a year...

Back in the bubble I'm using these a storage ships for a vast array of C2 weapons but I HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY FLOWN ONE BEFORE!

So I've made my way to Colonia and in order to rank up the engineers I bought a Viper and fitted some modules for upgrading.

Now with the addition of some freshly imported weapons it's a bit OTT and more than holds it's own in the Comp Nav and Tenjin.

Very fun ship to fly for sure.

Throw Guardian shield reinforcements and enhanced performance thrusters into the mix as well, and there are a lot of different ways to go about building one. My go to combat one is a bit heavy and using regular thrusters though.

Now how about that MKIV!? Everyone should have at least a couple Viper 4s.

Lol, yup I bagged a deadly Anaconda yesterday with it and that was cool.

Mmhh enhanced performance thrusters? I've got some of those appearing in my racing Eagle in a bout 30 hrs!

People have accused me of being a bit dull for preferring the Viper 3 to the iEagle but if you're trying to, y'know, fly in a specific direction or shoot at stuff it's much, much easier in a Viper 'cos it's so much smoother to fly.

Great Bubble taxi too.

Stuck Enhanced thrusters and a 3H GFSD booster in so Fool's Gold flees flies at 651m/s, boosts to 814m/s and takes strides of 39.94ly fully laden (which frankly isn't that laden) all whilst catching Gankers eyes in a shiny golden(ish) paintjob.

Although you don't really need a Bubble Taxi in Colonia admittedly

I have a 932m/s canyon runner as well - the other day I showed it off to a friend of mine when he was in his Krait II - he laughed so hard he nearly crashed, when I accelerated away from him at more than double his top speed

I like running around in my Viper 3 , the dakka dakka special ( 4 overcharged multi-cannons )
Got perf enhanced thrusters, clean drive tuning, HRP, reactive armor etc etc.

I can get it to turn so fast it blacks me out and wont turn for 5 seconds... great fun...

Great ship. I mean, it's no Eagle MK II, but it is a real fun ship to fly, and packs quite a punch for its size.

I tried a viper mk3 as an upgrade to my eagle. Couldnt stand it, just couldnt fly as well

I have a love-hate relationship with mine. It's fun to fly and run around in it, but on the other hand it's the first ship I died in during organic combat.

I’ve had one for years parked up with the Canadian a Flag paint job called Hoser 1 thats got Enhamced Thrusters and a Wake Scanner just for chasing wakes. I’ll know the Viper was my 2md ship I ever flew(Freagle was my first) Im not sire if it’s my first one I purchasd way back when I started. I blew the dust off it the other day

Kinda depends what you're doing - going 750+m/s and revectoring with boost, it's way more agile than the Eagle. Factor in scoop-boosting to cap speeds down at the 350-500m/s mark, it'll completely out-turn the Eagle with a good distributor. Regular thrust, no boosts tho? You're spot on - Eagle FTW.
