finally upgraded my computer to be able to run Virtual Reality. went to buy the Rift S, Sold out! went to multiple web sites, Sold out!! Amazon has it priced at over $200 above the regular price. Thieves!! taking advantage of the sort supply. Illegal price gouging, the nerve! I found out that the problem is shipping from china due to the coronavirus. Oh boy!! now what!!

Sure it is with masks, if not Oculus S. Try Amazon for masks! In Nov. 2018, I bought some 3M N100 masks for bronze casting F16 throttle and rudder pedals. It was so cheap that I bought 5. Now, the delivery date is March 8, and at $65 a pop From the same 3rd party vendor.

Its funny, over on Dangerous Discussions there is a thread where people are predicting the end of VR in elite...
People who haven't selected targets by looking over their shoulder at them then tapping the "select target ahead", I presume.
...or even just seen the scanner in true 3 dimensions where those coloured dots denoting ships / cargo canisters etc are actually above and below the plane of the scanner. Or felt the proper sense of scale and awe when taking a ship in and out of a hangar and you see there is like 30m of deckspace between the surface landing pad and the hangar ceiling. Or got up close and personal with a thargoid scavenger, or or or....

The Odyssey+ was on offer again recently for around $300. I bought one for around that and got it shipped to the UK last time a similar offer was on. I can highly recommend the Odyssey+, the only things that let it down in my opinion are the controllers (but for E: D that isn't an issue, and you can usually find a reasonable compromise for other games).
And I've got a couple of boxes of masks (got them when I was sanding down walls). Maybe I should sell them on Ebay while the price is up?
