PBSF suggested HOTAS Setup.

I've had the T flight hotas one for about 2 weeks now (thankx to the wife - birthday gift)

I'll give this caveat: I'm extremely new to this game. So far I've mostly been doing hauling missions, and now I'm planning how to get to my first engineer these next few days (visiting Felicity - so yeah, I'm that new)

But nevertheless, I can say this T flight has made the game SO MUCH more immersive than xbox controller standard. I feel like I"m twisting on all relevant axis in the most optimal way to manuever around. Whole thing just feels more intuitive

It seems like many of pixelbandits suggested mappings are already the default T flight hotas setup? I haven't even gotten to deeper menu options, don't use them yet/don't know what they are. But basic navigation already seems same in default as what I can tell in Pixelbandit's setup

Also, yeah, the T flight hotas usb cable is short. But I ordered a 12 foot usb extender. I did the same for a keyboard. I keep the cables all wrapped together with velcro tie (i ordered one that is like one long wrap for all cables). Whenever I'm not playing, I put the T flight inside my entertainment center, and coil/tuck away the cable extender. When I do play, I sit comfortably 10 feet away on the couch and I used a folding laptop couch stand (sort of like a TV dinner tray) to keep the t flight just above my lap, sturdy.

So my newbie verdict with the T flight is
fun factor +1
immersion +1
getting it to work with your space: neutral. There are ways to make it work

just recently bought a hotas based on chat here and it’s great, totally transformed the game and now i understand why other people here say they don’t need a docking computer. only one question. I had it for about a week and now i occasionally get this annoying jitter when sometimes the craft goes haywire, wanting to rotate on its own. it’s as if the deadzone on the joystick is too sensitive. sometimes a wiggle sorts it out, sometimes not but typically it always kicks off when you need to be precise. anybody else noticed this? is there a remedy? i see nowhere to adjust in game or xbox settings

Already? >.<

Unplugging and plugging it back in can sometimes fix any drift/jitter.
Setting deadzones can help with drift but not jitter.
Returning it for a replacement under warranty is your best option.
Taking the handle apart to clean the potentiometer and free trapped wires is a very simple job but will invalidate your warranty.
Please see this discussion thread on fixing the problems

Sometimes my Hotas will stop working entirely. I have to unplug it and then plug it back in and that fixes it right away.
I play from my recliner on my Xbox and I believe that the cord dragging on the carpet as I move around causes a static build it that unplugging solves. I haven't actually tested this idea, but it seems like a reasonable cause. I doubt the control cord is shielded for outside interference, its about half as think as the usb extender cable I use. It also seems to happen more during the winter months when the house is dry.

My two cents, maybe someone with more experience and expertise can look into this.

PC user here, considering buying Hotas One (reasons).
Question about deadzones: Hotas 4 have better precision then Hotas-X.
Anyone measured One deadzones in comparison to Hotas-X? Thanks.

All of my dead zones are set to 0%, I don't have to compensate on anything

I looked up how to set the deadzones in the first ten minutes of use, and they’ve been set at 10% ever since day one. However, even with the deadzones set, mine started to roll to the right after three weeks, but I found out what works for me.

On the bottom of the stick is a dial to tighten and loosen the resistance of the stick. Mine was tightened all the way down when I got it from the factory, and after using it a bit the tightness wouldn’t let the stick return to its “zero point” on its own, and I’d have to manually overcorrect it to keep it from rolling. Once I loosened up the resistance on the stick all the way, the springs on the stick now return the stick to the zero point inside the dead zone without my input. I let go of the stick and it zeros out.

When I start up the game the first time, the thrust left and right switch on the back of the throttle doesn’t function at all. Once I unplug the connector and reconnect it, things work fine. I have hardwood floors, so static electricity isn’t a problem for me and it still requires a reconnect.
