is the game done?

I mean DLC wise i suppose jwe 2 will start summer 2021 with the movie but whats with this game ? is it done its a long time til 2021 summer :D

next dlc? or done? just want to know if we are getting anything in the future or not. :) i would gladly buy another dlc or 2 or 3 ;)

I mean... I doubt it's done. Check SteamDB, it and select "Depots"
It tells you when dev testing branches are updated, and JWE's dev branches are actually quite frequently updated.
I'd guess they're working on an update, maybe a DLC of some sort.

Yeah, I'm expecting something tied into Camp Cretaceous which is supposed to be coming in the next couple months on NetFlix. If so, considering the secrecy tied to the show, it's not that surprising that they aren't allowed to talk about it.

I believe Frontier have stated every now and again for Jurassic World Evolution will continue until 2021, so I would expect a few more DLC packs.

After that we don’t know what's going to happen next; the next could be either a sequel or something entirely different.

i would almost guarantee its not done. however I expected bigger DLC's or expansions than what has ever been released. IMO there won't be anything that "epic" or how ever u describe it, and in fact only smaller content adds from now on.

especially if JWE2 is a thing.

Frontier have no contractural end to produce more content for this game, because they aren’t funded by Universal. They even confirm in their latest sock exchange news this game, along with the three others, is still growing because of its healthy business. They will continue to make more DLCs until they officially confirm so, as with any other public game company.

It is worth mentioning there is always a several month gap per DLC and big update as of 2019, and it’s always in secrecy in regards to what they are exactly and when they will release until reveal.

2021 is really an estimated date of year to end the production of new content, and I can see why. Next year is the final theatrical film for this series of the franchise, and there currently is nothing known if anything else for the franchise is coming afterwards. Jurassic World Evolution is highly specialized with the film series in the franchise, and its audience is very active. What else can you do to keep a healthy business for any for any game of a major IP that isn’t theirs when that marketing opportunity is decreased big time after the movie, especially since Frontier Development’s self-proclaimed business style is to keep developing their games after launch? Their four active games continue to do so because of their business style.

Point is, I can almost guarantee there will be more new stuff until sometime next year.

I think there will be some stuff coming soon to the game in 2020.

This is my theory (wears tinfoil hat), I think the beginning of each year is a huge brainstorming and approval process that frontier does for JWE to see what is the path the game will take for the rest of the year. Getting ideas ready, pack dinosaur concepts done, and waiting for Universal to greenlight the stuff. That way, the remainder of the year would focus on pushing all efforts into making the DLC and updates come to fruition. Like the beginning of 2019 was notable for lack of communication and major updates, and April 17th was the start of the notable packs and DLCs arriving to the game and a semi-developer's roadmap to entice players and get attraction.

I am just glad the game in its current state is more filled with content, options, and polished than the state last year, it makes the wait to any potential additions a lot more bearable as JWE now feels like a more complete game than before.

I've been wondering the same, but I personally came to conclude that the game is done.
We are already in April, and even considering the current virus situation, there were no report even from new dev branches being worked on and the latest month schedule from Frontier doesn't include a single mention of JWE. This is really sad, but if we add the leaks (all of them, particularly those that turned out to be true) the remaining 'support' for this game will be just bugfixes.

The weekly schedule doesn't really mean much to the game itself, considering it's a community sort of thing. Considering it's also just covering this week, it's not impossible for something JWE related for next week or the week after (I would say it would likely be Capture mode related, as all platforms can join in).

That said, yeah, it doesn't really look like anything was ever scheduled for April, DLC wise at least. There still might be some potential for June (maybe even just a dino pack), but if there's literally no update then, then yeah, proper support's probably over.

Some people have hope for a Camp Cretaceous update (was scheduled for August, but got delayed I think) and I'd say it's probably not entirely off the table at this point, though some adjustments would likely be needed due to a different art style, and it's currently unknown if there's actually any new dinosaurs in that series at all (that said a Carnotaurus skin and mini Ankylosaurus aren't exactly impossible).

It is also worth noting, through my research on the SteamDB website on their games, there is no inherent strategy of how often DLCs for there games first pop up in their history records. They can first pop up on the SteamDB less than a month before being revealed what they are. Certain Planet Coaster DLCs, even the latest Ghostbusters DLC, did just that. Planet Zoo's Acrtic Pack was nearly in the same league. Also, the Cretaceous 3+ dino pack for this particular game did just that.

Which means, you don't have to expect a several month early tease on the SteamDB website. Any random timespawn that can be less than a month before revel will do for anything.

Plus, because it's rumored they said new content support will end sometime in 2021 (though it can also change to 2022 considering what has been confirmed to be planned to come out for the film series besides the next film, and it's unknown what the potential release date will be), one could expect more free publicity stunt updates for Jurassic World: Dominion and the confirmed planned live-action TV series. Plenty of time for more free updates that aren't publicity stunts, as well as big and small DLCs.

Specifically, the shortest time I've seen is 10 days for a Planet Coaster one, though the appearance of the DLC on the Steam DB seems to consistently correlate with the start of Beta testing for the DLC. Stuff seems to more readily go wrong for JWE, even for DLCs there for months, that might be why the shortest we've seen for it is about a month.

As to the "support till 2021" rumour, I can't find where it started (I remember it being from an interview of some sort, but that might just be a false memory) and there's one person on twitter that seems to reckon that what was said was just that there'd be support, but not for how long.

That's exactly why I caution it as a rumor, because I can't find anything to conclude so, but it's said so all over the place.

Keep in mind, though, Frontier Developments really don't have a contractual end with Universal Studios to produce content. If they did, it already would've been fully and officially known a long, long time ago. If they did say 2021 as the date of year for such, then I'm almost certain it was just an estimated guess, considering the trend lifespan for Jurassic film series stuff for the franchise will be lowered after the next film's theatrical run. But, with a new planned live-action show for the film series coming to be, if it does see fruition, like I currently believe so, depending on when it will release and how long it will run, this could potentially increase that franchise's film series trend, something that this game specializes in.
