Why the game doesn't support mods and cc?

Hi, I just wonder - this is probably the only game I own that does not support mods and custom content. I think it would resolve all "problems" people have - more (specific) animals, different settings, not that important to care about it in the company but some people would use it, more coats for animals, more build pieces, foliage, terrain colours etc. And people with low end PCs would not have use it (so no limits).

They say it's for quality standards, but at the same time I'm pretty sure it's for financial reasons. I imagine they would have a harder time selling DLCs if players can get those exact same animals and more completely for free.

That being said, at least they haven't done a DMCA takedown of any current mods

Both those reasons are... terrible. I mean, look at The Sims 4 - so many mods and CC and still standards are high and DLCs sell well. Or even Cities Skylines - even Paradox supports modders and mods, promotes them, and still - every DLC has big sales. I think modders push the game even further because they don't have to do their mods to work with lower end PCs, so with the creativity the sky is the limit.

Plenty of huge successful games have mod support, like the Fallout games. I honestly don't know why some publishers don't support mods. Maybe because the franchise mode is partially online and it wouldn't be fair if someone made a mod that allowed them to have 10 babies when it's usually just one or something, but I was hoping at least for mods for sandbox.

Well, then enable mods only for sandbox. I think I don't even know any simulator that doesn't support mods. I mean, even Dota 2 has mods and that's full online game.

This is a quote from Paul on that topic to explain why....

Hey all. We fully understand the excitement and added experience that modding can bring. However, for a number of technical and other reasons, modding isn't something that is officially supported within Planet Zoo. Unofficial modding or software that alters the game's code will always present a risk to players. For this reason, it is our recommendation that you do not use unsupported modding or clients of this nature and we ask that you not post links or screenshots of them on the official forums.
