still some areas where ther is no "stay-at-home-order", and people still go to church . Interesting to say the least.

Kansas is twice as far from New York City as the Netherlands is from Northern Italy. When they were burning we were still going to church, too. Kansas is as close to NYC as we are to the Sahara Desert.

I am not going to go call out specifics...just saying "asymptomatic spread", "incubation time", and "well, that people in other areas of the world made that mistake, does not make it good, or better anyhow ?" . Oh, forgot "exponential growth", and "by now, really, more than enough examples to learn from?" .

Oh btw, somewhere, beaches reopened XD .

Why does it have to be either or?

It does not have to be either - or . But IF people want to go on and start investigating failures and mistakes having been done in the course of dealing with this Pandemic, noone/no Nation/no Institution may be exempt .

They could also have been using the downtime to put her into drydock, as I imagine Daimen shipyards (which is one of the better ones in the region) is fairly empty at the moment.

Could be, with service likely to interrupted by the pandemic and the engine trouble they were apparently having. They'll need some new paint and a good inspection now, in any case.

An interesting map, showing projected odds of epidemic spread per county

Seems the virus is moving inwards from both coasts, with a central 'pillar' from Texas in the South to Montana/North-Dakota/Minnesota in the North where the odds are there is little happening (yet). Its hard to 'grok' the size of some of those states, curious if there are any odds of their neighboring states containing it?

That's to be expected as most of the larger cities and travel hubs are on the coasts. The interior, generally speaking, is far less densely populated.

There was another map based off Google tracking data showing how normal peoples movements are. The NE and most of the Great Lakes are is quite locked down, as are parts of the west cost and Louisiana, but where people haven't been hard hit, or otherwise aren't taking things seriously, activity is almost normal.

Anyway, it's only a matter of time before it reaches everywhere. NY, Florida, California, Louisiana...they'll probably be past peak just as it starts to really hit the interior. Hopefully it's delayed enough to stagger mitigations and transfer necessary supplies, but I'm not sure there will be enough cooperation for the latter.

What would a CAT scan be for?

Looking at the lungs to better reveal the true severity of a case.

How is it unique, SARS-Cov-2 is Zoonotic, so of course animals are at risk of contracting it, though I imagine you'd have to sneeze/couch in front of your dog, while cats would be more prone I would think, as they like to show acceptance by rubbing their faces onto your face.

Zoonotic doesn't mean all animals are susceptible. In this case, it's worrying because of possible implications for domestic cats becoming reservior or transmission vector, as they are common pets.

Dogs do not appear to be susceptible.

Man, there are not even reliable tests yet ! When you see pictures of first responders doing rapid antibody tests....total nonsense . If you are infected, Antobodies do not start showing up during the first few days . So you can still be going around spreading asymptomatic...And, a lot of things re immunity are pretty much unknown yet.

EDIT : Just realized that my reply went exit stage left past by what actually is in that Article...sorry XD .

Dogs do not appear to be susceptible.

Just found this ( its a few weeks old...)

Now all we need for the full package is famines starting to break out, and people starting to eat not well enough heated cats and dogs XD .

A work colleagues ex-wife was admitted to hospital with Coronavirus and put in an induced coma a couple of weeks ago, he was a little stressed as they have a daughter.
I spoke to him today, she is back out and causing him normal stress again

Ah, the joys of a catch-22 situation. I'm into week 5 now, and my chest isn't feeling better in the slightest. I am, however, not even remotely at the point where I need hospitalization. Because I don't need hospitalization I can't get a COVID19 test. And because I can't get a negative test result I cant go to the doctor to investigate alternative causes, because you aren't allowed to visit your regular doctor as long as you have COVID19 symptoms.

Lol.

Hi guys, I've been days without going to the forum, and I think that giving information about my country is irrelevant, the quarantine has been extended until the end of April and little else, I don't even listen to the news, tired of reading lies, both good As bad, luckily the Canary Islands is one of the communities with the fewest infections / deaths, although they continue to grow.
As Jasonbarron said a little back, I am beginning to doubt if this whole situation is real or what they tell us, I do not know if it is the greatest conspiracy on the planet or that I know, the information as always is hopeful, but they have tried to censor so much all the misery that has been experienced that you really can't see or believe anything.
I have argued with the girl I was living with and her son, to help us while we were in quarantine, a good friend, and now I will spend the rest of the time alone in my house. 🤦‍♂️ We got along really well before this, sad but I'll be fine. Stay safe mates.

Edited:My friend's grandmother (84) contracted the virus while going to a radiotherapy session, but she is asymptomatic and doing well, hospitals do not seem to be a safe place either 😔

Is a lingering of conditions like you describe consistent with the aftermath of covid? I haven't read much about people five weeks down the road recovering from a confirmed case. Sounds like you're worse off than me, but I'm comparable. Still weak and struggle for breath, moderate fluid in my lungs at times, initial sickness probably around the beginning of February. I've been hoping it was covid, no way in hell I could merit a test, but it's statistically likely to be the seasonal flu

An interesting article discussing how the WHO carried (and still is) CCP's water for so long during the crucial, opening phases of the pandemic spread, helping the CCP spread their blanket of lies and disinformation that has helped to dramatically increase the rate of global spread, some estimates claiming up to 95%. Choice nuggets such as "there being no evidence of person to person spread" claimed by the CCP and trumpeted by the WHO as late as the 14th of January.

It's kind of surprising that nobody from the WHO has looked more deeply at the Chinese statistics for infection and death toll.

If they're accurate, it seems like the Chinese are experts in controlling the spread of the virus and we should all be looking to them for advice.
Alternatively, they're a lie and it's a lie that's misled every other country in the world about the seriousness of the virus.

WHO dropped the ball so badly from day one, I cant help but wonder if it was on purpose, I've lost all confidence in them as an organization.

Crazy days.

I'll tell you wot - as it's you. There's an outfit in London knocking out genuine Covid tests for £250.00 a pop. Whack a Johnsons cotton bud (other cotton buds are probably available) down your throat and stick it in a envelope to me. I'll whizz it up town to them - they'll send it to a German lab and we'll get the results to you within a few days, subject to to receipt of funds naturally.

(while you're at it I also have some Nigerian contacts that are looking for people to handle some money transfers, can probably get you in on the action but keep it on the down low obv.)
