Discussion Coordinates inside system

Is there any way to obtain player ship's coordinates inside system when player is in a ship? Journal doesn't provide any coordinates posted as event params (it does when player is on a planet surface, but not when he's in open space) and it doesn't post 'move' event at all. I want to develop a tool which need this coordinates but can't find a way to get them.

As far as I'm aware, there is not. There are some journal events which identify the nearest body but that's about as specific as it gets in space.
I can't give any definitive reason as I'm not privy to that information but I'd hazard a guess that the information could be too easy to abuse to create "bots" piloted by computers rather than by players.

It would be more logical to close ship control functions from external programs instead of hiding information about the ship's position. This would make it impossible to control the ship by any automatic methods, but would not interfere with the implementation of other tools which are within the permissible

Supercruise assist and adv. docking have made that part relatively easy.
