I'm only a lowly porter though, so I'm very grateful to those on the front line. They are rock stars in my eyes lol
It is too early to tell as in Beta no one is really going to purchase my Meta-Alloys. Going live and offering them in the bubble to new players might work. I haven't figured out how to advertise it.

Yeah they are putting themselves at risk for our benefit and should be rewarded for that. I have a physio friend in the US that got laid off her rehab position and given the task instead to do COVID testing wearing inadequate PPE. Makes me feel safe and privileged here in my bubble in little isolated NZ in the unfashionable corner of the Pacific Ocean.

What I cannot figure out is why am I playing this silly game? If I spent all this time learning to say play a piano would life be better? Like ED it is a skill with a huge learning curve and will never be perfect. Philosophy 101.

Thank you. Yes it is rather wonderful here, and I'm happy to be here mostly because I ended up here by accident and really had no wish or reason to go live here (long story). However, the lockdown worries me slightly. I am used to working from home, and have spend long stretches in fieldwork in isolated and sometimes hostile places. The time it was least pleasant to be stuck in a camp was during UN service in the 90s, when the UN lost its mandate in Yugoslavia and we couldn't do anything but sit on our bums in camp. People crashed mentally in droves from having nothing to do, yet surrounded by plenty of meaningful stuff they could be doing if allowed to. The lockdown here feels a little bit like the same could happen, and we already have reports of escalating domestic violence just halfway through the lockdown period...
But I'm lucky again, I guess. My work is busy and I can do it largely remotely anyway.

Sin a way yes...but FD is way too secretive about this game, and as far as i am concerned for no good reason...this could have been avoided if they reached out to the community and got a feel for what people wanted for FC's.

"Hey, there's lots of absolutely nothing out here, do we really need to bother with showing half a hemisphere of nothing?"

I haven't figured out how to move my Fleet Carrier from where I collected it to an orbiting station in the same system. ED doesn't like me. Maybe I need to fly to the station in my Asp Explorer then tell my Fleet Carrier to meet me. I'm missing some basic Nav skills thinking too much. It is also confusing if I set a destination is it for the Asp Explorer or the Fleet Carrier? OK, I figured that out. So I can jump to systems but not to a specific station as I don't have control standing on the bridge of the FC. There is no bridge and after paying 5 billion why not? Well i found a bridge moving ships to the FC. It also takes an hour before jumping even in the bubble. An engineered explorer ship can travel a lot farther in an hour versus a Fleet Carrier. I cannot maneuver my FC to an orbiting station in a system. I'm missing something here.or maybe the Devs don't like players. Maybe they are evil. Could go either way.
