Constant freezing since update -- bug, or something on my hand?

Since the 1.2 update, I have been having my game freeze up every few minutes, for at least 10-15 minutes at a time. I've spent ages troubleshooting and trying to fix the issue, so far without success. I've filed bug reports and noticed a few similar ones -- links at the bottom of this post -- but I'm wondering, clearly most people aren't having this issue -- is it something on my end? Frontier hasn't marked these crashing issues as acknowledged yet but I see they've already duped other issues from the patch. Could it be because this isnt a bug, but an issue on my end? Game was working fine on the 6th, was playing a bunch to get hyped for the DLC. I've reinstalled, deleted all workshop content and saves, reinstalled all drives, still freezing so far. Anyone managed to find a workaround?

Examples:

I was checking the bug reports and noticed that someone reported that moving their install from one drive to the other fixed the issue. I am wondering if anyone else who is experiencing this issue has two drives and if so what kind of drives those are, as this may be related to the issue. I'm reinstalling Planet Zoo on my HDD instead of the SSD where it's always been -- potentially the update broke Planet Zoo and SSDs?

It's not just me who's reporting it -- go look at the other reports, we all have high end graphics cards from various makers. They definitely broke something, and now its radio silence.

Elite Dangerous has been on my list for a long time, and it's on a huge sale on Steam, but this all experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'm not about to buy another Frontier game at the moment. Yet another reminder not to preorder games or DLC....

Well, I have Wednesdays off for now. Was gonna spend last wed playing Planet Zoo, but of course, that didn't happen. If theres still no fix or announcement that they're working on one tomorrow, I'll use my free time to reach out to Steam, explain the situation, and request a refund.

My specs crush the recommended requirements. I've been playing on Ultra with no issues since Beta, until this patch. The game now locks up every 5 minutes or so for up to 10 to 15 minutes. It still runs in the background, but accepts no inputs.

Ehm, okay. Sorry for asking....

But what are the specs then?

No need to be sorry. I have a GTX 1070 and an i7 intel processor. 16 gb ram. Like I said, I've never had issues running PlanCo or PlanZo. Even now -- the game runs along at 60 fps but ignores all inputs for 15 minutes.

That is weird. I hope they can come with a fix for you!

Maybe you should try reaching out to support directly: I think it's support@frontier.co.uk

The forum isn't really used as a helpdesk and the issue tracker is there for reporting any issues, but if you have a issue that appears to be a local problem, it's best to contact them.

I did, a week ago. Havent heard anything back. And you can check out the linked support issues -- no updates on any of them. Figured I'd spread awareness and see if anyone in the community has a workaround.

Update: I did get an update from Frontier that they're looking into it now. That's really all I wanted to know -- that they're aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. Hopefully a fix comes out soon! Thanks Frontier.

Update 1.2.2 did not resolve this issue. Please fix ASAP.

That could be because it isn't necessarily a bug with the game. If they are looking into it they could be trying to determine whether or not it is a game bug or if it is something on your end. I understand your frustration but it's not like anyone here can do anything directly about it - you've already taken all the necessary steps to try and resolve it.

I have been dealing with this issue since the update first came out, and I've certainly taken all of the necessary steps. There is another thread on the feedback forum where I linked every bug report of this issue I could find at the time and described the issue, when it started, and the troubleshooting I've done so far. Rest assured, there are many of us experiencing this issue using the very same machines that have been running planet zoo smoothly for months. It's definitely an issue with an update.
