Dual Thrustmaster T1600

Please forgive my Noob Questions, hence the name, as an older player, ive just purchased Dual T1600m, no the problem ive got, is ive not got enough USB ports at the rear of the PC, will purchasing a usb hub(powered) be the right option, if so do we have a recommendation as to which one would work best, then when ive got that, I shall tryt to set up the controllers, anyone got a spare child to show me how lol

yep usb powered hub they are all pretty much the same after all it's only a small power transformer coupled within leads that suppliment the 5v pc rail
to give power hungry devices extra juice one end goes to pc one to vacant power socket then you should have four or five ect vacant usb slots for those devices

This is half right.

A powered USB hub is what the OP should be looking at, but they aren't all the same.

Biggest difference I've noticed between them is the quality of +5v current the included AC adaptor can deliver. Actual voltage can be all over the place, causing attached devices to fail to function correctly. Worse, since most inexpensive hubs are not electrically isolated from the PC they are attached to, one that significantly deviates from spec can even damage the PC it's hooked to.

Some very old or very cheap USB hubs can also have issues with high polling rate devices (normally mice and gaming keyboards).

Quality of the included USB cable can also be an issue, but this is easily fixed as replacement cables are cheap.

Maybe put the two joysticks in their own USB sockets and everything else, like keyboard, mouse, camera, speakers in the USB hub.

the risk is not so much on the data side of the usb hub but more so the power side where the hub is plugged into the pc which has its own power supply
and as a cheap power supply on the hub maybe prone to unsmooth power delivery that could potentially backwash to the mobo without any devices even plugged into the hub yet...………………...
in saying that I have had a Belkin fa years no problem but one must rem the 5v rail is still live with the pc unplugged off as it can still potentially get juice from the hub
