Animals acknowledging guests

Hey guys I was just wondering if it’s possible for some animal guest interactions. Not to the extreme of the console version of zoo tycoon but it’s very common for all animals especially primates and big cats to acknowledge the guests through viewing areas once in awhile. One thing in the original trailer I thought was neat was the lion running at the guests before using the scratch post but have yet to see such behavior in game.

These behaviors don’t have to be a every time thing but once in awhile would be great.

This is a pic of a orangutan that actually misses guests with the covid19 pandemic going on. This is a zoo in Colorado as many staff are reporting the same.

That Orangutan wants some company poor guy. Maybe he'll get some visitors soon, as long as he doesn't scare them when they come around that corner!

Great idea, a social interaction with guests instead of other animals.

For many species it is actually enriching to have the ability to interact with guests. It's one of the reasons a lot of zoos have big glass viewing windows for big cats and great apes especially. It would be neat if Frontier included this in the game, and also gave the animals an enrichment bonus from it.

In the first video they shown about planet zoo, you saw these things if i remember correctly. (just like someone talking on a viewing area to guests).

I absolutely love the idea of interactions with guests And staff!

The major problem is that in this game , animal does not like seeing people, if anything like the photo happen in planet zoo, the animals will become stressed

I agree some animals should be more susceptible to stress then others. But big cats ,bears,primates, and some others are naturally curious and do occasionally show interest in people. Sometimes individual personalities come into play also as our zoo has two male lions. One is more then happy to avoid the viewing area and the other loves to come down several times a day.

I forget this zoo but since covid19 this keeper will visit animals several times a day since guest stimulation is no longer possible.

More examples as bears,cats, and primates seem to show the most interest. All animals occasionally show some acknowledgment of guests of course as elephants can be curious from time to time also.

Not that I want or even expect this in planet zoo but since the coronavirus outbreak zoos are introducing animals to each other that wouldn’t normally interact in the wild. These interactions are done behind glass of course but still a awesome idea. The Jacksonville zoo recently setup a play date between bonobos,gorillas,penguins,and a aardvark. And other zoos have introduced penguins to chickens.

And here is a orangutan and red river hog. This particular zoo has also shown a trained bobcat to other animals as well.

The Jacksonville zoo recently setup a play date between bonobos,gorillas,penguins,and a aardvark. And other zoos have introduced penguins to chickens.

Sounds interesting. Are there Videos of this?

@Urufu1997 none that I’m aware of but you can read about it a little I just googled Jacksonville zoo play date for gorillas as originally I just seen the pics.

I miss a feature like this a lot and it would also add to the "real animals" feeling I am so desperatly missing as I stated here . In fact, the only reactions of the animals to the guests at this point is negative (stress) which shines a wrong light in zoos in my opinion.

this would be great. Saw some interesting, yet sad in a way, story about how many animals in the zoos are sad, sitting by the windows wondering where all the people are right now. Thats why some zoos are letting other animals, like penguins,, etc. (like in the photos above) meet with other animals. Yes - they are wild animals, but they do become somewhat domesticated and do get used to seeing humans as much as we like to see them.
