Is there still no way to cool down water?

Hey there,

so, I tackle the Polar bear problem again in my new zoo and now I get constant warningsm that the water is too hot. Is there still no way to cool water down or did I just miss something?

As Urufu1997 said, while the water temperature is not affected by the coolers ( but still by the weather....) the bear is only affected by the ground-temperature, so simply place the coolers on the ground of your lake.

Thanks you too! That should help! :)
I haven't tried this myself (I tend to ignore the temperature warnings), but I suppose the solution would be to put the cooler in before you fill it with water. Of course given that you've already built the habitat that might not work for you (we all know how annoying the water system is when you've already placed paths and barriers).

As far as I remember from my Polar Bear Enclosure, it also works if you place them after it is filled with Water. But it sounds like a good idea because you can see much better in the Heatmap where you need to place Coolers

As long as there is not animal swimming in the water (otherwise it gets boxed...which also an option), you just remove the water, place your stuff and fill again.

That doesn't always work. If you've placed paths or barriers nearby the water it doesn't refill to the same level as it did the first time. Though that's a separate issue of course.

You are right in some cases it's a problem and you have to be careful.
Anyway I have less issues with the recent updates ( the new disable option helps a lot) and at least in my case only if I

  • lowered the barrier after filling the water
  • placed a path right above or next to one of those barriers
  • placed a path right above the water level, nearly touching it

barriers only...no problem I raise and lower it again to fill, but of course when a path is involved….oops
