Newcomer / Intro Robigo/ Ceos passenger missions, a few questions

Hi,

so I want to try these passenger missions but I have a few questions.

1: I heard different things. some people say you can make good money there and some say it has been fixed and you cant anymore. what is true?

2: I`m thinking about buying either a orca or a phyton. what would you recommend more? they ship should be mainly used for passenger missions and maybe exploration/ cargo missions.

3: could I even land the orca at robigo mines?

4: what would be the perfect configuration for cabins (luxury, first, business, eco)?

5: I saw a few yt videos about robigo and they always see the destination where the passengers want to go. when I go to passenger missions I only see how many passengers but never see the destination. I have to click on it to see where they want to go which is pretty annoying. anyone know why?

thanks

Though one can no longer make the hundreds of million per hour, one can still make a dozen's of million easily, using a python loaded out for just that purpose.

Robigo Mines is the better of the three station's one can utilize.

The largest ship that can land there is a Medium.

First, the missions you are thinking about, the ones that earn real credit are run from Robigo system to a tourist beacon in Sothis system, not Ceos system. A Python is your best bet, stripped and modified for jump-range. You will want a mix of business and first-class cabins as most of the missions have "named" passengers who do not share cabins. Since you are in a Python Robigo Mines, an outpost is much closer to Robigo system's star than Hauser's Reach station and there is a lot more security scanning ships around Hauser's Reach. I have never been scanned by security at Robigo Mines. At Robigo mines also there are more "illegal" passengers who pay much more for the trip to the Sothis Atmospherics tourist beacon (Sothis system, planet A5) than "legal" passengers pay.

PS: There's more to it, of course but why deprive you the fun of figuring it out? o7

thank god, I almost just bought a orca before coming here, would have really sucked.

I know its to sothis but I read that ceos has similar missions (ceos --> sothis) but its closer and a shorter jump, but also less money to make.

are "illegals" always economy?

cant you use a heatsink when getting scanned so they dont see what you have on board?

I currently have a krait mk2, maybe I will "tune" it for jumprange and try the mission first to see how it goes.

thanks

Illegal passengers are never economy (they all have names). You will never see a mission like this: "21 illegal passengers want to visit Sothis Atmospherics".
Heatsinks do not stop scans, they help prevent you from being detected (so that you do not get scanned). Once a scan starts you have 7 seconds to be inside the station.

Beg to differ, dropping heatsinks always works for me. Also hit silent running on the way in if they're persisent cops

I mainly use Robigo/Sothis now as a fast and easy way to get several top tier materials - mostly Biotech Conductors, Exquisite Focus Crystals and Modified Embedded Firmware. I have a Python parked permanently in Robigo only for that. When I need to stock up on the materials I just grab a ship with a good jump range and set course for Robigo.

Since it has not been explicitly stated: No. The orca is a large ship and the largest pad at Robigo Mines is a medium sized pad.

But he can land at Hauser’s Reach though - where I have my Python parked cause Robigo Mines has no Shipyard (see my earlier post). Hauser’s Reach also has many good mission to Sothis, but a bit worse than Robigo Mines (doesn’t pay as much either if you are there for money) - unless he is looking for Exquisite Focus Crystals cause Hauser’s Reach tends to offer them more often than Robigo Mines. The flight time to Hauser’s Reach is longer too of course.

If you are worrying about being scanned —> Silent Running plus Heat Sinks will give you all the time you need and then some. No need to rush at all.

There are two things going on in the area of Sothis, Ceos and Robigo.
The Robigo (Mines) to Sothis and back with a boat load of tourist who are generally illegal and generally not an issue if going to Robigo Mines, one can make dozens of millions per hour. The hundreds of millions, have been nerfed.

Sothis to Ceos or visa versa missions is basically for anyone wanting to rank up in the FEDERAL NAVY as to get the Corvette. Generally consist of doing data missions. One basically start at the first station in one, goes to the next etc. Then deliver's and picks up additional at the other system. Being careful to only work for the FEDERAL brokers will net one faster rep. Moonlighting for extra cash by doing data mission for other than federal, slows down the process dramatically.

If one has no interest in ranking up in regards to the FED. They should not do the Sothis to Ceos loop. There are at least two other places to rank up fast in regards to the Empire.

When was it nerfed? A few weeks back I was making a steady 80-100 million an hour form Robigo Mines to Sirius Atmospherics. I was allied with all the factions, had maxed out the Pythons cabins and was filling them all up. You can make more per hour mining LTD’s, but you need a good run and be lucky on the sell price. Passengers runs seem a much more steady income generator or at least they were.

A trawl through the back pages of dangerous discussions would probably find the date but it isn't a recent thing and the money was in the 100s of millions from comments I remember.

what ship did you use and whats up with the 30ly requirement?
The meta ship for this would be a Python. The 30 ly requirement is necessary to make Robigo-Sothis in two jumps. Since the full run takes 12-15 minutes and you spend almost a minute per jump, adding two additional jumps (one in each direction) significantly affects the time taken and therefore your profit/hour.

how did you get it to 35ly? i tried different conirfgurations on coriolis but never get it to 30ly laden with cabins. do you use a guardian frameshift booster?

edit: highest that I get is this https://s.orbis.zone/6nzx 27,49ly laden
