Feminizing Imperial Ranks

Well, there are actually some girls playing this game. ;-)

Even if the Imperial ranks above "Duke" don't currently serve any purpose, it feels weird to be "King" when you should actually be a "Queen" - even if Queen of nothing. ;-)

I'm absolutely not in programming but perhaps its possible for the devs to catter for us feminine players by adding something like an "if, then" related to the gender of the character so that Imperial Ranks are feminized if your character is a girl (Federal ranks are gender-free). The immersion would definitely be greater if we could have adequate Imperial ranks directly related to our gender. ;-)

Yeah, surely this would be trivial to do. I'm surprised it isn't already the case, I'd just assumed it would be.

I asked for this back in 2015. It didn't happen then due to the mission system design being unable to cope with the required variants in pronouns.

It is interesting, when you remember, there is a choice of gender, at the beginning of the game. (Well I think there is)

If that 'is' the case, then everything else, should be 'tuned' to the gender, you choose; logically.

I find the female Imperial designations strange when the empire has central female authority figures. Clearly it is not a male dominated empire.

Perhaps the Emperor doesn't care about women. Or maybe 90% of her court is made up of men, and she's leaving it out for political reasons.

Yep. The ingame explanation is that Emperor Arissa Duval didn't go with the title Empress in order to not upset the traditions of Imperial folks accustomed to a longstanding patriarchy. I'd like it if Her Imperial Majesty would reconsider that position. Assuming the game can now better handle pronouns, I'd love to see reforms in the Empire.

The Disney Star Wars crew made the mistake of not having an Empress, an Empress Palpatine, to take the reigns of a Second Galactic Empire. I would hate to see our ingame Empire make the mistake of not having an Empress, as well. And Empress Arissa Duval has a nice ring to it, too. o7 CMDR!

While i would not really care if they did it, there are a lot of other things that need to be fixed first because we worry about titles.

Why leave? Thanks to mining, we Pilots Federation types have the opportunity to become multibillionaires. Surely there is more to Oligarchy than watching the credit number get bigger. We need to put our credit number to good use, such as offering high pay no show jobs and multibillion credit deals to the family members of influential Imperial politicians. Sooner or later, the Imperial political class will see things our way, surely by some process of deliberation not influenced in the slightest by our advancing the interests of their family members, ofcourse. o7 CMDR

I was thinking about this too today. The game should recognize if you play a female or male charackter and change it accordingly.

Rank 8 = Viscountess
Rank 9 = Countess
Rank 12 = Duchess
Rank 13 = Princess
Rank 14 = Queen

I remember when Space Ace brought this up, it was mainly objected to by men screaming the word 'LORE!'. Apparently lore is something that can never be undone. So it remains that there are only male orientated ranks.

I support any endeavour that is both inclusive and bound to rile up people.

I'd support the feminization of ranks too. Because I am working my way up in the ranks, and it would really be jarring to called "Lord" or "Baron" when the appropriate ranks would be "Lady" and "Baroness" and so on.

Let's hope the Emperor eventually decides to choose to take on some more progressive values and choose Empress as her title.
