I might just be nitpicking here, but I find that the station voices appear to be quite limited. Why is the same person who welcomed me for docking at one station also working at a completely unrelated station 200 light years away in an opposition power?

My suggestion is community voices!

Make an open way for players to put their actual mark on a game by submitting their voice for a station to use. these can be randomly assigned with a few options for preferences (i.e power alignment, system/station etc). Obviously popular stations would be requested a lot so not everyone who requested it would be able to have that station. Maybe keep the already used voices for known popular stations that will gather a lot of requests, or just make it entirely random where your voice will appear.

The word list to complete would be pretty easy.... just phonetic alphabet, like 3 full sentences, and all the ship manufacturer names. recorded to a single file to be sliced up and used.

Understandably screening would have to be done for each submission to ensure it's actually clear whats being said and that nothing profane is coming through, and it would be cool to receive a notification back by email telling you where your voice is being used.

Thanks for reading :)

Steel yourself for combat!

I'm just reminiscing how Dragon's Dogma made one voice into many (corny as it was).

Yeah voice alterations for already existing voices are off putting and pretty obvious. Throwing it to the comunity will have players from around the globe with all kinds of accents providing voices. I'd wager a good proportion of the community would gladly read a few lines to become a part of the game.

My wife really wants to do voicing for this game. She reckons she could do a superb COVAS.

Like the idea, keep main stations with what they have now, but random for others the community. I believe they must have a script already. If the sample provided is not good (clear) enough then they can reject
