Newcomer / Intro Wetwork missions

What's the gameplan for this one? Hang out in the Nav beacon and try to fight off the police? Insurance claim incoming in 3, 2...
Though, I note that none of the ships in the nav beacon are 'mission target's. Should I just blindly open fire on these type-7 transporters etc?
Would it kill Fdev to be a little less vague in their mission descriptions?

Do bad things; get wanted and then killed.

Hi-wake and come back again. 'Missions targets' are a little bit of an issues sometimes. We see lots of potential targets, that would normally fit the requirements; but the game fails to make them mission target.

Only kill those with mission target lit. You might be better off hanging around in SC and interdict any you see, and make a Quick kill before the cops turn up. A haz rez would be ideal, but sure you have tried that if there was one.

As much as I'd love to do exclusively boom data delivery missions for 3k apiece, it seems like Frontier want to ensure that any mission with any meaningful payout is illegal.
I don't really mind in this case, I'd just like to figure out how to take on missions like these in a sensible timeframe without cheesing instance resets. I tried HazRez and found no miners, and with one new ship every ten minutes with a 0.1% chance of being a mission target it was going to take all night.

Assassinations are normally better for a bit of pew. As long as the rank isn't deadly, you should be able to do them in a reasonable combat ship.

Even deadly-ranked assassination missions are paying only 250k, and my best combat ship is a fully equipped but barely engineered vulture - I don't really stand a chance there.

I have never taken a 'kill good guys' missions and 90% of my income, has come from mission running. Be it assassination missions and group pirate kills. Yes the game, puts temptation in your path all of the time, but you don't have to give into it.

It's a piece of content; just once I'd like to be able to ask how to do a mission and have the answer not be "don't".
But, good news, I found one mission target asp scout which I managed to take out, eventually managing to jump away from the law at 80% hull.
8 to go.

Serious question, how do you do it?
I have an aspx and a vulture, and to get my equipped python it's going to take 960 of those deadly-rank assassination missions that I don't stand a chance at.

Agreed. Play your own way. I play as the good guy, just to escape my psychopathic serial killer, real life existence.

As I tried to say: The 'missions target' thing is an issue. I kill wings of pirates, only to have one of the ships, marked and recognised; as a mission target.

Cobra III for about the first 100 million and now an FDL. I have never been to an engineer. I stay away from C.Zs. These days they are just suicide. Pirates and other missions targets, I get mostly from, USSs and MSSs. I have never fitted a module to play the blue circle game.

Greed will get you killed. The number of times I have thought; 'just one more and I'll dock to re-arm etc.' Only to die 15 seconds later. I try to just enjoy the game, I refuse to grind and if I don't manage to complete the target count. So be it. I only play about once a week and have done so since the first dangerous launch. I have about 350million, most made in Cobras III & IV. Soon I'll pick up a Python and try some chain missions, but no rush.

Traders like to spawn on planetary surfaces, too. It's fun to shoot them down.

Just to chime in here, if it says "Wetwork" it will be illegal -- killing civilians or police or such. So you're always going to be faced with that aspect.

As for finding the targets, the Wetwork and Kill Pirates type missions are semi-kinda-bugged. Sometimes you can find the needed targets fairly easily in a RES site or NAV beacon. But sometimes you can't, and they are really scarce. You might find a couple in Supercruise.

Also, sometimes you'll kill a ship that is marked "Mission Target" and it still won't count.

So go ahead and do them, they can still be fun, just be aware that there are some bugs in the mix.

To find the target, you can get them in Analysis Mode.
Enter SC and run a discovery scan, slow down to min speed in SC and open up the full system scan as you would to find planets and signals, etc

Set the scan strength (on the right) as far over to left as you can to ID signals.. if you follow the orbital plane watching the white pointers, one of these pointers will turn a different colour (orange for me, maybe HUD settings).

Zoom in on it as normal and that’s the mission target. You can now see it in your NAV panel and use SC Assist to zoom on over and whack the civvies. Probably a small group of ships where you get one and then have to chase them around the system again.

As long as you don’t die or jump out of the system they will stay in the NAV panel as target threat 0 highlighted.
