Newcomer / Intro Trapped In A Living Hell.

I am trying to get the sensor fragments for Palin unlock but I simply cannot find the hillside with the sensors on it. I am at the crash site and can see the debris around the crater but cannot work out what to do. I have driven all the way around a big mound. Please help!

But there is no wreckage on any hillside. It should be above me but I cannot find it. I have even got back in my ship and gone high to have a look. The co-ordinates are right and their is some wreckage at the bottom of the crater but no hillside debris for them to roll down and no further wreckage high up.

I think the steep hillside was flattened in the last update? Or is it the coming update? You have to find the Thargoid Sensors and shoot them. Then they drop one or two fragments.

Alternatively you can go to Thargoid Structures on planets and shoot the scavengers scurrying around there. They drop Sensor Fragments and also other Thargoid materials. For locations see below. I'm sure the Scavengers live on active sites (see list):but can't remember if they live on inactive sites too.

They fixed it, no wreck on the central peak any more. See my recent video showing you what to do (should link to 5:30 in the video):

( I can't get the time codes to work for these links any more, sorry) time stamp fixed now - thanks to @Krieger for pointing it out.

Once again it shows how important uptodate information is. I was watching old videos.
This is one of the more important points to keep in mind.

A quick check in the News forum for the start dates for update/patch notes threads will show when the game was last changed (reading the first post will show what changed most of the rest are just salt) any guides and videos that predate that point are potentially inaccurate or even wrong now.

If you stop the video and right-click on the play button you get a menu where you can select "copy URL from current time" or something similar.
...........

Interesting - every time I had tried to do that on this version of the forum it just produced the vanilla link in the post - yet yours worked. excellent. (y)

Having fixed the OP I think I might go back and make a video where I don't muck it up so much!

I made the link on a linux machine using firefox. I sometimes notice small differences in the Youtube interface between Windows and linux. Maybe that plays a role?

You got the fragments. That's what counts.
