using 8700k+1080ti 32gb ram still lag

I've downloaded many great creations in the workshop. Some of the large zoos only have 11-20 fps which totally unacceptable.
I try to use afterburner to figure out what happening and it shows only 4x% CPU and 3x% GPU usage during the game.
What should I do to let the game make full of use of computing power?

Not sure what you can do, as everyone to my knowledge experience this problem. When the zoo gets too big (covering more than half of the map) + many building/scenery pieces + many guests (usually >5k) and a few hundred animals, the game will lag baddly with stuttering and extremly low fps, no matter how good your PC is :(

You can't do a lot....or in fact nothing.
At a point with many objects and visitors this game is slow.
And yes, your GPU is nealry idling and your CPU as a whole is also not really utilized, cause the slowdown is causes by certain operations that might run only on one core.
At least Planet Zoo seems to be faster than Planet Coaster...but it's game engine is still not state of the art.

I have a 1650gtx and Game starting to lag slightly. Yet i can play top Games FPS fine. Of course the Animals Animations take up a lot, but that Much??
I think main problem is the stupid amount of Food/Drink you have to put, NEVER been to a Zoo with so Many in real life.
I Downloaded a Big Zoo, to give me ideas, Very well designed by DeLadysigner but that was lagging terribly!.
Be interesting to see why it uses so much. I have an Intel 7, 16GB Memory too.
I might have a play with Computer Settings Cache/Virtual Ram etc, but should not need to.
I can not believe it just down to Animation, the Guests should cause no problem as lower end Graphics.
Hopefully it will be Reviewed, As the Game is Great, only things i find real Annoying is lack of being able to do Construction in an Editor, or Blender etc, and Water Levels.

What Memory have you got (RAM)

@ Arakai: I agree to an Extent, but should not be a Problem. Maybe it is the Game Engine?

I think the main lag is coming from how many building stuff you got in. Noticed that sometimes you might place something and the game kinda has a "hiccup" and starts to lag, but when you remove that piece the lag is gone. Had a zoo that was small but was lagging, I removed some of the stones I had placed and climbing requirement and the lag went away. Now the zoo is bigger and still no lag (yet)

I think that is part of it. But many guests, many animals and also modifications to the terrain causes lag. I would love to know if anyone have managed to make a big zoo that fills the whole map without any lag.

I am not sure I am gonna get that far XD My zoo doesn't even take half of the map yet, yet I got at least over 20000 pieces of building stuff all over (plants not included)

The total piece count is one factor...but there are complex ones and simple planes. I can clutter my park with glas-domes and 150k pieces and it's still playable.
So, the main question: Who is able to say Meilin from the workshop runs smooth at 60 frames ;-)

You can try using Process Lasso Pro and see if that you get resource better in use.

If all other aspects of your PC meet or exceed standards set by a game, its time to check the connection status of your internet for those lag or stutter issues - Just because a provider says it has 1g thruput doesn't mean you actually get that on your connection -It all depends on distance and repeaters of that service - The quality of the transport method used ( cable, fibre, or Sat) - The number of servers used in that location ( 9 can serve more than 2 ) - Interrogate your server farm for info and graphs of thruput and other factors concerning your issues -

I think my biggest zoo so far is over 5K people... and so far my system seems be holding its own with a rather big exception. Pertinent data:

Ryzen 3700X mated to a Noctua DH-15
EVGA 1080Ti FTW3
Primera PM01 RGB case

Case fans are 3 at the front, 1 at the rear and can be run at 1200+ RPM which I do when playing this game... CPU is cool and happy, think mid 50's C is about the highest with some spikes to 60C. All core is usually at 4192 mhz, once in awhile if the game hits a single thread hard I can get 4292 or 4342. This game seems to do a real good job at distributing the work load across the cores available.

Now the video card is where things get interesting. I have found depending on ambient I can only run it at 75% power budget when ambient is about 70 to 75F with moderate to high humidity in the apartment, while if its low 60's with dry air I can usually get it happy at 90% power budget. This is with fans hard set at 85%. I stopped playing with fan curves as when I would let it run with 100% or higher they just couldn't keep up with the games demands, thermally throttling and crashing when said thermal throttling takes place.

Not sure if you have checked but make sure you are not throttling either at the CPU or GPU level. Good case with good airflow seems to be absolutely mandatory for the best experience... and you may have to tweak some voltages/power budgets to get things happy.

After writing this tonight I noticed my GPU is not being worked nearly as hard as it was before the maintenance, be curious if something was done server side. I also do notice some hitching but not terrible right now... and that is new also. My GPU went from being worked damned near 99% to 51 to 60% or so.

OK.. further update, zoo has hit about 3500 guests and for some reason tonight I am seeing the CPU and GPU drop to 0... not using the system steadily like it was up until yesterday. Something is weird, its almost like a bottleneck is being hit. Just for fun I cranked my GPU upto 128%, was able to run without an issue when it comes to temperature.
