I started a challenge game on medium difficulty. I went to place a shop down and then tried to custom build a building around it. However, I have nothing to choose from; there is no walls, roofs, nothing. All state nothing researched. Ok, no problem so I go into research and research everything but rollercoasters and rides. The strange thing is through this I never get any themes or building options to research and stuck within no ability to custom build anything. I am pretty sure I am missing something and I hope this community is able to help me figure out what I am stupidly missing.

Building pieces are located under the building tab.
This then sub-divids to two further tabs:
1- Blueprint
2- Custom.
This tab is located on the far left of the screen above the park management button.
Blueprint is pre built building that will appear locked if the research isnt done.
Custom is all the individual pieces.
For ease of lining up walls click on the shop, click the building selector button (looks like a turn arrow point up) then click edit building. This will create a grid around the building making it easier to work with.

That's my problem 
. I've repeatedly gone to the location you've described and then I only get what I described. There is nothing listed in custom section of buildings like I said . No researching options either.

That is a great point! I thought I should have done that at first and would have saved you, helpful people, some time on a solution with me. However, I tried something else in the meantime. I re-installed the game and now everything is showing up. Weird issue that I couldn't figure out but it seems that a re-install helped. Maybe just some kind of corruption on my system. Thank you for your kind offers to help I appreciate it, everybody!!!!!
