I cannot make this any simpler.

Understand this much- I hope you never have to find out just WHY this is serious. I hope it misses you, your friends and your family.
I hope you have the luxury of the ignorance you hold so dear for a long time in safety.

Because like those protestors, you can only learn by direct personal experience. And I do not want that.
Cheers and back to your ignored status. We cannot communicate. Over and out.

lets put aside any concerns you have for me, im not the issue... rather the ones you seemlingly show your concern for... are the very ones who no doubt have been affected by the troublesome concerns you are pointing out!!
but again... you have missed the point!!
People dont want their Freedom to assemble and move freely infringed upon.. becos of the irrational fears of those who you seemlingly show concern for...
Do you think the people who have recovered from Covid19.. now enjoy the Newly established directive laid out by authorities... who would then punish the very people who have recovered?? Surely you see the sense in the meaning of Freedom to assemble and freedom to gather and work together!! it is afterall a given liberty in your line of work!!
so please spare me the ignorance remark!! that is the pot calling the kettle black!!

In any case, the protest was not about that. If the BBC suggests that they are simply wrong.
The uk press is getting pretty boring and more desperate in its attempts to paint a rosier picture of how our gov performs.
There were headlines telling us to ‘let our teachers be hero’s’ the other day :-( eg: force our teachers back to work without any protection so our gov can get on with their herd immunity program.
I get it that we do need to get our economy going again but it’s not going to work if we ignore our R value and current new daily infection rate.

I recovered and I fully support these measures. It is not 'punishing me' but about protecting other people. And as I am not a sociopath I can understand the world is bigger than my immediate personal strife for enjoyment, so I make some small sacrifices for the greater good, and I do so gladly.

As the saying goes: it takes a crisis to really see what a person is made off. And as this crisis has shown, the answer for many is 'not very much'.

In France they give a medal and a little money for the medical staff and also consider them for heroes.

They really take people for morons.

They are all thinking of reviving the economies so that everything becomes as before.

Overproduction, overconsumption, overpollution.

They should now prioritize the well-being of people, and take the solutions to improve the state of the planet and the climate.

But they only think about money.

... yet they should have their rights infringed upon.... becos of sick people who are being treated?? your logic and reasoning have no validity..
..afterall people get sick everyday.. do we therefore take away rights of citizens becos people become sick?? no we dont nor should we...
........

I am trying to work out if you are just trolling or if you are really ...

Overproduction, overconsumption, overpollution.

Reviving the economy is not just a thing for the rich to get richer, or overconsumption / overpollution.

The people who actually suffer from the halted economy aren't the rich, but the poor and miserable. The millions of people who lost or will soon lose their already low pay jobs because the small businesses where they worked had to close, those who have no savings to help them get through this period without a source of income, and who don't have a desk job that can be done from home to keep a paycheck.

Those millions of people would have liked someone also thought of minimizing the impact on the economy.

I know all this.

The problem is that the way the economy works, makes that even when the economy is doing well, the poor and the miserable, remain poor and miserable.

And to excuse the current leaders using the pretext of the poor and miserable is a monumental hypocrisy.

Overproduction, overconsumption, overpollution remains the monstrosity of current society.

Ok, we left the house voluntarily today for the first time since February.

Stopped to get electrical tape to make a small car fix. Bending is very exciting for me. Hardware lady wanted a chat. She hadn't seen people in 3 months.

I took a ride to work where they painfully extracted the stitches, mostly. Centre was deserted, with just one old patient on the unit. I asked who was on duty, and to my surprise, it was me. I could walk slowly after they came out. We decontaminated with the kit in the trunk.

From there, we had to put gas in the car for the first time in months- since February! I am loving this hybrid (and also not driving much.)
The station had a strict no mask - no service policy, so some guys got turned back at the door by a giant 7 foot 450 pound shotgun guard. Serious business.

Every one had a mask in their car. They just forgot. There is no such thing as a rightwing protestor here.

Wife picked up a few snacks and sodas etc. Then off to the diner near the house. She wanted to buy food for a break. You can take away food now, but no eating at the premises.

I slouched painfully into the pharmacy next door to get her some chocolate. They had surgical masks at 1 for $8, "N95" knockoffs at 1 for $32. Hard pass.

Every business has a new plastic sink outside. You wash up, or stay out. Every door has a sign: mask required, or no entry. Every individual on the street is either wearing one or is trying to get one so they can conduct business.

Ouch. They are now available at pharmacies, super markets and railway stations for §80 cents a piece over here.

Island life:
Pro - we eradicate the disease
Con- there's only one box of masks

If only there were travel, you could come by, sell a few hundreds and enjoy the arbitrage.

Hey, did anybody hear that a certain Jenius World leader now vaguely claims to be "taking HOCQ" prophylactically? ( I do not believe it. Confabulation is typical in hypomania. But maybe the doctor there should get some Mag Sulph and a defib ready, along with some mental health drugs.)

It's great to see somebody putting their money down on self medicating with an unapproved medicine on a totally well controlled by the Chinese, hoax disease, no worse than the flu, that was going to disappear 3 months ago, which you totally do not need a mask for, cause you cannot catch it and for which the vaccine will soon be ready.

If he does get it, will he mainline the Windex or the Ajax? Stay tuned for more medical practise from this very stable individual! 🤭

Hey, it's OK for the country to lift lockdown, but not the administration. Especially when the hoax starts infecting your staff. 😂

They had masks for sale at the supermarket tonight. First time I'd seen them Two for $3.50. I finally got a few masks from a friend online.

The supply chain still has few paper products, or rubbing alcohol.

And yet we live in a time where more people enjoy prosperity, freedom and safety than in any other time in the history of the world.
Could it be better? Yes.
Should we continue to strive to make it better? Of course.
Could it be worse? Hell yes.

Try living a year without electricity, plumbing and at the mercy of the elements. Certainly changed my perspective.
