Actually how about we don't base any game mechanics on the views of Yamiks, if fdev changed the carriers to be exactly what he suggests it would still result in a new video which would call the new version "disgusting" or similar.I'm with The Yamiks and his "Remove the upkeep" take.
Sure it's Immersive. However, if people are selling fleets to buy one, what makes you think they'll be able to keep it for very long?
The frustration will just set in sooner of not having all your old fav ships to park on the FC. I see some complaining 5 Billion is hard to obtain, while I would argue 1 billion is hard to obtain, and even more would come in with 1 million is hard to obtain.
The Yamiks mentioned - once you're able to buy and upgrade one let that be your badge of game completion by removing a weekly upkeep. I agree with that and think it fits more with the rest of the game because my crew on my ship is always there. They are happy to serve under my command and they signed on knowing they get paid as WE get paid.
Upgrades to the ship should be the only cost besides fuel. Once it's yours it's yours! This would make those 5 month treks around the galaxy a lot more fun and involved without the added salt of "I HAVE to log into Elite and spend hours grinding today because I bought the Fleet Carrier".
Cool. I disagree with making changes to the game on the basis of the opinions of someone who would no doubt then attack those same changes.I'd say "discuss the post, not the poster" should also apply if it's Yamik's opinion.
I also think upkeep is a bad idea. As was making carriers stations instead of POIs. Are my opinions automatically invalid as soon as Yamiks happens to agree with any of them?
We understand that the reason for maintenance costs will reduce the amount of unused or abandoned FC in game.....Just an idea I have, to do the same, but without the loss of your FC.
Greetings Commanders,
Tied up too many credits in ships and modules to buy a Fleet Carrier this Beta? We have you covered with the BETA BLOWOUT!
Starting from 21 May at 10:00 UTC and lasting until the end of the Beta (26 May), Fleet Carriers will cost a mere 1 million credits and ALL Additional Services will be reduced to 100 credits per service!
We hope that you all get a chance to jump into the Beta over the weekend and show us what you can do with your very own Fleet Carrier!
Please note: The Beta Blowout costs for Fleet Carriers DO NOT reflect the final prices when they are released in June.
o7 Commanders!

As posted elsewhere.Hello, i am playing ED on PC via Steam and can´t access the Beta. For several days i tried but after choosing Beta (Horizons) in the launcher the message appear "Can´t connect with the authentication server"... (translated from german). Any ideas out there commanders?
There's a Transfer option in the Inventory section of the right-hand panel. Use it to make the transfer to your ship. After confirming the transfer and before you exit the Transfer menu, click on the Cancel button (which is kind of a bug and might get changed eventually).Greetings fellow commanders.
Missing something for sure here,
but when someone sells Tritium to my carrier or any commodity...
how do I get it out without buying it from my own carrier?

Worked fineAs posted elsewhere.
To resolve this issue, please do the following:
1) Open the Launcher
2) Click Options -> Log Out Machine - It’s important to use Log Out Machine, and not just Log Out!
3) Restart Launcher and fill in your details and log into game
I didn't link to Steam when given the option. Instead, I went with Frontier (Elite Dangerous) logon name and password.
2315 CDT Sunday 24 May 2020. Beta is pretty much over, most who wanted to try a carrier have.
June will reveal just how many carriers will be in game. Does anyone expect an increase in carrier popularity?![]()
Five days to get experienced Elite players for the last six years to figure out all the issues with the upcoming fleet carrier ...
from dateutil.parser import isoparse
for beta, start, stop in (

):
print(f"{beta} runtime: {isoparse(stop)-isoparse(start)}")
I like this image. To anyone here who hasn't joined us yet, you'll find many answers to carrier-related questions in our discord server. So, if you want to be as prepared as you can be by June, join in.
