So, if you have Elite Dangerous main, you can fly in space. If you have Horizons, you can land on non-atmospheric landing planets. If you have Odyssey, you can walk on landing atmospheric planets, aren’t you? Nice!

I hope that atmospheric landing planets will have more atmosphere around them, you know - blue sky, nobless oblige:

i see you get it too.

ATMOS PLANET LANDINGS COMING.

Thats the biggest news ever for me.

I've looked at those places many a time wondering what they would be like but we only ever were able to land on those airless worlds.

now will have to consider so much more interesting things among the planets we could never visit right in the bubble and everywhere

Well that all sounds rather promising :)

I'm not one to get hyped, still cautiously optimistic but that looked very cool. BDSSE level of cool. PLEASE don't release it too early, fix all bugs before hand. I like that "Diplomacy" is mentioned, don't have a focus on pew pew.....get more sciency stuff in as well for explorers. Let us take rock samples etc and analyse stuff, so that someone could spend months fully exploring a planet and earn as much as someone exploring as we do now.

We're getting atmospheric flight as part of this? It sounds like this will be for uninhabited worlds only — no ELWs or major population centers?
This will be awesome and lays needed groundwork for walking on Atmospheric worlds. I thought Atmo would come first but just not on planets with life. Seems I had a wrong guess and this actually is a more logical path as it limits having to create too much new creatures and environments for 400 billion+ planets. Atmospheres I expect another 2 years of development work if we are lucky. And will be another paid expansion.

Great news is a smoothly working release that integrates seamlessly into the existing game is coming, and it will pack updates to the planetary tech; recall ice worlds and scatter-rock upgrades already teased a couple years ago. Wonder about the recommended specs, if performance is targeted at the new console generation with DX Ultra and limited ray-tracing as the top-end or not?
