Takes Base Jumping to a whole new level :)
Reminds me of a scene from the 2014 “Wanderers” short film...

...improved ice planets, low gravity, yuss pliss!

Dont tell that to the console crowd. Whats with all the 'we're entitles to answers' mindset around here?

It's just as Babelfisch once said, and I cannot come up with anything better:

"The LEP-entitlement is what gives a poster his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the forums together."

Not that I'm actually LEP-entitled or have been promised anything, but the song remains the same 😇

O7,

No it doesnt. You've effectively disqualified your own argument. congratulations, you played yourself 😉

Except that horizons is supported by VR. So that's no an excuse.

The main game and horizons will still be VR compatible. If you enjoy those two why uninstall it?
You are missing the point completely. I said "imagine if Horizons did not support VR" for comparison. It would have made VR players be at a significant disadvantage, particularly n PvP combat and therefore completely ruined the base game for those wanting to do PvP in VR. Of course, there may not be similar issues in the new expansion, but that is yet to be seen.

im getting the impression you two dont evr pvp, and maybe find it hard to see things from others perspective
The problem I think you're having with using balancing as an example is, as I'm sure you well know, people who take PvP very seriously min/max everything to the point where there's really only a couple of builds that become the meta. Because it's always worked out to 3 or 4 decimal place amount of damage/regen there is the perception of there being no other option if you want to win. So the meta stays locked for a certain period of time and then there's cries of balance passes being needed because it sucks that there's only one viable way of competing.
So a balance pass is made, a new meta is found and the cycle repeats. Endlessly.

It's the same in every single MMO with PvP elements in that I've ever played, and always will be. Even in PvE games that have a competitive element it happens.

So I just fly what I enjoy flying, and what feels right.

I asked you for your perspective and you posted 3 things. 2 of which are tweaks and the other which is really PvE that sometimes has a PvP element but has evolved into a Grand Opera non-combat PvP which I think is an epic outcome.
my perspective is that i would like the dev time to be focused on pvp for this dlc
PP would be much more pvp orientated if it was open only as they intended originally. but we know what happened there.
RE what pvp gameplay? the wonderful thing about pvp is that you just need the right tools and envrnoment and a bit of incentive and the gameplay is created. but that requires serious dev time. which is what im saying would be good in light of all the pve focused patchhes weve had

Indeed I do not PvP anymore (I did 25 years ago), but I can analyze the way a game (especially this game) works.
The only thing you need to do is analyze how you play the game. What are your activities in/interactions with the game?

As I said earlier:
Imagine if al PvE mechanics got removed... There would be no game left. The game would no longer be functional.
The same is not true when you remove all multiplayer components. You would still have a fully functional and playable game.
Even if you are totally into multiplayer/pvp a lot of your activities will still be PvE.
The heart of the game is PvE. Without good PvE mechanics the game dies.

I do NOT mean to say that PvP couldn't use improvements. That is a different topic.

This is indeed an interesting announcement. Whilst the gameplay may add a new element to my time spent in the galaxy I am slightly more interested in what technical updates they have made to the engine to support Odyssey. "Amazing Tech" was hinted at within the email the people have commented on but I would like to understand what it is they have done to bring the engine up to date and add the enhancements needed to allow us to wonder around planets and shoot each other.

Far from that. Scratch LEP, put in VR. If LEPers can quote an old Braben interview on proposed game features over and over again, I can do even more so because the game was actually marketed as a VR title when I bought it. Besides, entitlement is a very subjective thing. Only you know whether you have it or not. I feel entitled to ask for an answer on the VR question, and that is the truth! 😇

That's if the update had anything like engineers in it. But as to PvP, not my problem. The game isn't centred around it anyway.

Space Legs? o_O And it's completely optional just like Horizons?

AWESOME! Can't wait to see how it gets implemented. Finally those who want more immersion in their space simulator will have it, and those who want content to live their lives as a dashcam aren't shoehorned to participate. Don't wanna do it? Don't do it then.

Of course, now we'll have a bunch of protests borderlining ridiculum with false equivalencies and extreme perspectives because someone else is getting something new in the game, just as we always do. I've no interest in "fleet carriers" but I didn't protest it just because I have no interest.
