Never tried NMS, how does that work with PvP FPS combat? Shirley the VR guys have a massive advantage, I mean I can turn my head around exorcist style in some of my VR FPS games.

We do also have advantages when flying ships, but the FPS advantage would be huge. Sounds to me like they weighed up all the pro's and cons (Nausea in FPS is also a major issue)

Will there be Base Building in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?
Base building is not currently on the roadmap for Elite Dangerous, however we have plenty of new features planned instead such as on-foot exploration, new planetary tech, social hubs, combat as well as more to be shared later on! We’re looking to put our best foot forward with Odyssey and if you’d like an overview of what to expect, you can check out the website or Steam page.

Will Elite Dangerous: Odyssey be included in my Lifetime Expansion Pass?
While Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is a paid expansion, we're happy to confirm that yes, this expansion will absolutely be included in the Lifetime Expansion Pass for free.

How will you handle the transition between Odyssey content and base / Horizons content? Please tell me you're not removing VR completely from the game.

Will we get to walk around and customize our ships? I can make my ship my "base" if so.

I'm very disappointed to see the lack of vr support but also completely understand why radically new content might lose compatibility.

With that being said, I'm curious if any thought has been put into how VR players will access the content. Will we be able to take off our headset when accessing non-compatible content and continue on our way? Or will we have to completely quit the game to switch out of VR.

In a perfect world, I imagine that when non-compatible content is started, a big 'screen' will float in front of you in VR.

What about Ship Interiors? Will we be able to walk around in our Ships? We already have SRV´s! If we can´t access the full ship interior the DLC would be pointless...

Now THIS is news! I took a long break since there was nothing really exciting to do left ... and I hated it, since I love the immersive, tech- AND design-wise brilliant graphics and sound perfection of the game. And the trailer, shows that perfection again.

Might this be the reason for a return? I'd be extremely happy about that.
Oh ... in about a year. Plus proably some delays. Er ... well. Cooling down.
Plus: It will not be Steam-exclusive, right?

I'm hoping that it's either like CQC, or instanced like Star Trek Online. I basically land on a planet, click "go out for a walk" and it gives me an error saying "Take off your headset, dummy".

My main question really revolves around: if I want to separate out the gameplay enough that I can say "tonight is all VR! Wooo!", will I be able to without being extremely limited. Will missions start mixing in "Go for a walk" content, will I need to "go for a walk" in my ship on a regular basis to do upgrades, etc.

If they are separate enough that I can play the game in whichever specific way I want for the day, that would be great. I mean ED would essentially become 2 games for me. An FPS for when I feel like that, and a VR space experience for when I feel like that. I'd end up spending more time in ED, but feeling like I'm doing totally different things. HOWEVER, if they intermix it the way Star Citizen does, then I'd basically end up in a situation where I'm just limiting myself by playing in VR. Have the game randomly say "You should get up and do-... oh nvm, you have a headset on. Nvm!"

I don't do PvP but of anything flat screen will have an advantage there with KB/M. I could live with that.
