You mean like current-day Mars?I just chalked it up to "trailer needs to look good". I figured if they were going to show us an atmo planet, they would at least put in a tree/bush or have the people take their helmet off or something.
Because it's daytime. Duh!How does a planet without atmosphere have a blue sky?
I could be wrong

I could be wrong, but I really thought the blue sky was just for cinematic effect and not a statement of any kind.
Nah, it's just content gating like base vs horizons. This adds weight to the theory that Odyssey is technically a separate game in its own right, existing in the same universe. It might even be Odyssey players cant instance with Horizons players.
yes you are.
Like that Eve-based FPS that was released some years back. This adds weight to the theory that Odyssey is technically a separate game in its own right, existing in the same universe. It might even be Odyssey players cant instance with Horizons players.
If I had to guess I'd say that launching the game in VR will only load base or horizons. Launching it in pancake will give you the option of base or horizons or Odyssey. Thanks for the info Tim. Can you confirm that the walking around part is not VR compatible? Or are you saying VR will be removed form the game completely? The latter will obviously cause some major issues for some. I wouldn't like to be stuck with just CQC for this VR space sim experience.
As long as I can fly down to these planets, or roam around in an SRV, then all good. I'll just switch to big screen for the on foot stuff.
Cheers

But they haven't said it will be added later. NO VR NO MONEYFor everyone annoyed about no Odyssey VR at launch. The key words here are 'at launch', that doesnt mean that they dont plan to add it later.
It also doesn't mean they will add it later. For everyone annoyed about no Odyssey VR at launch. The key words here are 'at launch', that doesnt mean that they dont plan to add it later.
True but historically the features which are not in initially do not have a great track record of coming in any time soon. For everyone annoyed about no Odyssey VR at launch. The key words here are 'at launch', that doesnt mean that they dont plan to add it later.
They said the same thing about PSVR "at launch". We all know how that turned out.For everyone annoyed about no Odyssey VR at launch. The key words here are 'at launch', that doesnt mean that they dont plan to add it later.
I fulheartedly second every single word of this.Is there any possibility that one of y'all could elaborate, even in a very general manner, on what this experience would be like for someone who plays in VR full time? I know it's too early for a lot of details, but essentially I'm curious whether my VR flying experience would be affected by this change or not. If I sit down to fly like I do now, will there be moments in normal daily gameplay where I would need to remove my headset to walk around in space legs, or will space legs be separated enough that someone like me could have a gameplay session of all of flying in VR without worrying about it, followed by perhaps another session of all space legs for FPS gameplay, etc.
If I wish to continue to play ED as a VR game, will the new content be so intermixed in with the current content that I will no longer be able to do that without suffering a serious disadvantage (similar to if someone from base game tried to ignore Engineering), or will the two be separate enough that I could essentially treat them as different gameplay modes without negative consequences to my normal gameplay?
I'd hope the whole world would have learned it's lesson after Dust 514.Like that Eve-based FPS that was released some years back.
I hope not but the limited times I have been to that website, it is clear that they stand more than slightly in the Star Citizen camp.Could we please get confirmation on this, too, Frontier? https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/elite-dangerous-shooter,3358458.html
"While you can also explore space stations and even the interior of the spaceships in Star Citizen, for example, elite players can only stretch their legs on the planets themselves . It's a big step anyway"
I'd hope the whole world would have learned it's lesson after Dust 514.
