No it doesn't. I use the base launcher, and I choose between ED, Horizons, either 32 or 64 bit. I never select VR the game remembers my VR settings and launches it that way if a headset is plugged in.
Alright, cool. I was wrong on a small detail. However, you did just confirm that Frontier very much has a way to track who logs into what.

Thanks.

Sorry to urinate in your unikornflakes - but I've got both 65" 4k + VR:

Hope so as I'm using a 65" 4k Samsung TV as my "monitor".

I envy you ;) I'm saving up for a 120Hz 4k 43" monitor - really hoping the price comes down a bit. I have 3x 24" monitors, no VR (tried it, no desire for it).

Yeah, no VR support pretty much saps all my enthusiasm for this... I certainly won't buy it at launch. Maybe during a sale at a very deep discount. :(

This is disappointing. I started ED to be a commander, not a pedestrian. If I wanted to walk around I'd be playing Halo or Call of Duty. If this goes the way I think it will, it will completely ruin the game for me. If I do stick around, I'll probably get my jollies mowing down fools on the ground with my ship. This is just stupid.
You act as if space legs hasn’t been a part of Elite Dangerous’s plan for the past 18 years.

Not even exaggerating, there’s interviews with DB dating back to 2002 saying he wants to have “walking around in Elite 4.” That was almost a decade before the base game’s original Kickstarter began. And during the Kickstarter they said time and time again that space legs would be a future paid expansion.

It’s always been in the pipeline, and they made that very clear from the get-go.

I have a question (two actually). First, will we be able to walk around ships (or stations maybe)? Or will space legs only be limited to planets? Secondly, if you can’t walk around ships, will you see an animation of you walking to the exit of your ship to get out, or will it be like srv, where the screen fades to black and you appear in your srv? I’m worried space legs will become the same thing as srv because if you can only walk around planets and there isn’t an animation, it will just be like srv.

What part of NO VR AT LAUNCH do you guys not get?
After seeing messed up VR scenarios, even after being reported in Beta, going to official release, some of which persist two or so years later, despite having a dedicated VR team (apparently)
Hell, I'm more concerned with the possible reality that we can't walk around our ships
So your concern about not being able to wander around a ship, trumps the concerns of those that have had their way of playing, since 2014 (13 if you include Alpha), entirely removed?
Oh, and upgrade the character editor, FDEV. I want more variety in my character's looks. Custom colors for outfits, customizable body shape, stuff like that.
Real game play stuff right there. Don't forget to demand a full length mirror too. Can't have those Thargoids invading your ship whilst you've got split ends, eh? o_O

I envy you ;) I'm saving up for a 120Hz 4k 43" monitor - really hoping the price comes down a bit. I have 3x 24" monitors, no VR (tried it, no desire for it).
I used to use 3x22's, great for the peripheral vision, awesome for driving game,s but for elite, I felt like I was peering into the cockpit through the letterbox. The 43" will be a nice size, and the 120hz - yum. Mine is "only" 60hz but I'm in late thirties, so I can live with that frame rate.

I've made this image as a powerpoint

If you want I can photo it with sticks and keyboard and mouce on the desk infront of it so you can "confirm" 43" as the size you want?

Mine is curved...
Mine is flat - so more points to you, as it really means 2d on monitor is properly flat for me.

This is an article from a 3rd source. I've seen the reveal. VR was not mentioned.
I m using UE and this is normal that the VR is fully supported.

The technical demo is based on rendering (geometry nanite, light lumen, sound, auto IK, chaos physics and niagara particules) but this will not impact VR plugins that is another thing.

VR is input and output nothing requiring upgdate, the gaphical leap will be also applied on the headset like the screen.

The VR support on UE5 is obvious for UE4 dev

Say VR is not supported anyomre is like: gamepad are not supported anymore or screens are not supported anymore.

Moreover Epic will always integrate last technologies and run on most of all devices. But actually, VR is already fully implemented, no more needs for now.
