So, the problem I have with the no VR in Odyssey is that I would now need to set up 2 different control bindings for the game. One for VR enabled content and one for noVR content. I certainly wouldn't want to fly in noVR, not when I've had the pleasure of flying in VR up till now. But if I want to use the new content, which I imagine includes the landing approach to the atmo worlds, I would need to log out, and restart in Odyssey, conduct the landing, do whatever the new content is, then leave the planet, before switching back.
And the rumors of no ship interiors? So, it's like the SRV then? Just fade to black, and now I'm at the boarding ramp on foot? That'd be a hard pass for me. The whole point of wanting spacelegs was, to me, the freedom to get out of the flight seat, poke around in my ship, or at least traverse naturally from the cockpit to the SRV, fighter, or the exit, and explore my ship and it's surroundings in a seamless way. If we are just snapped to the outside, then I could just use the vanity camera. FPS combat would be a fringe benefit, not the core feature.
Elite with no VR: What's the point?
