Would you prefer an Elite Raider thread instead? I for one want Andromedaries, blood & gore then. Fallout 3 at the minimum, the uncut version where you could melt people with laser guns. Or chop off legs.

Comparing those two games is silly. NMS looks like it's made with crayons while ED looks like it's made with a technical pen.The whole argument about "development costs" and "Fdev is a business" is just invalid. Fdev had 120 people working on this PAID "expansion".
HELLO GAMES have about 25 PEOPLE in total, and yet they were able to add VR support to their game FOR FREE.
This is just pure incompetence on Fdev's part. There's simply no defending "we can't do that with 5X bigger manpower in TWICE the time".
Sane reason we can't have enough bookmarks. Stellar Forge painted itself into a corner. Probably same reason for no personal base-building.Fleet carriers are gated by price because the engine can't handle everyone flying them.
I was given the impression it was an 'F1 management' game. I got to be honest I'm not sure what that means
It's probably a motor racing version of Power Play, with the added bonus of being able to buy your sponsors with RL money from the Frontier store, so you can put the decals on your car/s.Neither do I and Codemasters have a license in parallel, but if you can't drive a car in an F1 game, only hard-boiled bureaucrats might buy it. I definitely won't. In any case, the license surely wasn't exactly cheap.
Frontier never suggested base building was coming, I can't criticise them for not producing something they never said they would.Sane reason we can't have enough bookmarks. Stellar Forge painted itself into a corner. Probably same reason for no personal base-building.
It looks like fdev has already done something like this with vr players)Would you prefer an Elite Raider thread instead? I for one want Andromedaries, blood & gore then. Fallout 3 at the minimum, the uncut version where you could melt people with laser guns. Or chop off legs.

I disagree. I like using the FSS in VR and find it very easy. The only issue is the orbit lines are missing. But they are missing in some circumstances in 2D mode too.I quite do not understand the accumululation of salt in respect of VR (or not) upon Oddysee -
although I frequently play ED in VR (and enjoy it a lot), in exploration VR is more or less a show-stopper. Handling of FSS and other features in pancake-mode is much much more efficient (OK, I use a 72" monitor in 4K), but the overall performance of ED - besides of combat - really doesn´t point to VR for me....
Perhaps, but lack of bookmarks has been an issue since launch. Am I wrong to want better bookmarks?Frontier never suggested base building was coming, I can't criticise them for not producing something they never said they would.

FDev is doing a great job at PR by deleting every mention of that FDev employee post outing the fact that they didnt bother modelling ship interiors. It would be easier for them to just confirm or deny it, instead they're just deleting everything about it.I'm wondering if the lack of interiors, is connected to the axing of VR. In essence if we had VR we could walk through the ships interior, but If they haven't been modelled yet... Or even if they are working on interiors but are only 40%, a 2D player will be easier to "guide" through the polished bits of the interior and "herd" them away from the unfinished bits?
And in five and a half years elite has shifted 3.5 million copies, Half Life Alyx has done more than half of that in months. Sure - VR is super niche and not worth doing.
Elite Dangerous base game has sold 3.5 million copies (plus other FDev games have sold well too)

I'm sorry for you buddy, that's the second story like this I've encountered tonight. There are a few of us who areraising havocpolitely protesting to get VR put back into Odyssey, and aprat from my own personal preference to play in VR, I really hope we manage to get VR reinstated for guys like you.
So's Frontier.I was silent on bookmarks.
Welcome To British Intelligence. Mr. Mycroft Wants To See You.FDev is doing a great job at PR by deleting every mention of that FDev employee post outing the fact that they didnt bother modelling ship interiors. Just to repeat: there was a THREAD where an FDEV EMPLOYEE actually confirmed ship interiors are not in this update and probably never will be added. I find that much more important than a few dozen VR users complaining that an unreleased update isn't catering specifically to them and acting like its being "taken away" when the rest of the game still supports it.
It just might be one.How are we supposed to switch between VR and non-VR when using space legs without completely restarting the game?
I have a growing suspicion that Odyssey may be a seperate game mode...![]()
I've been driving my Corolla for fourteen. If you cant afford it, dont pay for it, simple. Don't rubbish content you cannot afford. Thats like rubbishing someone that can afford a Porsche but only has finance for a Toyota.
Fdev have been giving us free stuff for 5 fricken years man
We have a defined answer on base building. That settles my purchasing decision.Hello ECity! Yes, I have made a lot of assumptions. We are a long long ways off to having defined answers and a set in stone architecture. 6 months from now they could completely scrap the whole thing and start over too. They did with the Fleet Carriers after all.
We have definitive answers on many things. It's just FDev keeps deleting the responses because they don't want word getting out that this update is pathetic. We have a defined answer on base building. That settles my purchasing decision.
If you've seen the YouTube channels that show ship interiors - in VR, mind you.. the only way you can do that - such a comment would not surprise you at all. On a lot of ships, half the volume of the ship is taken up by the movement path of the landing gear. There is no way there will be ships interiors with this expansion.. Absolutely no wayFDev is doing a great job at PR by deleting every mention of that FDev employee post outing the fact that they didnt bother modelling ship interiors. Doesn't mean FDev should be so evasive about it. We've been asking for it for years and they straight up never address it.If you've seen the YouTube channels that show ship interiors - in VR, mind you.. the only way you can do that - such a comment would not surprise you at all.
