At no point did I indicate VR players being 'undead' (being one myself, think about itI've said this elsewhere in this thread, but the VR players aren't quite the undead*, we are protesting in the forum in the hope we can sway Frontier to include VR in odyssey.
*undead being defined as not played the game in ages but still rattling around the forums having a whinge and a moan.
Wouldn't take every Tom Richard and Harry to buy a top end PC to make VR mainstream...Unless PS5 makes VR mainstream, I can't honestly see joe public go out, buy a top end PC, GPU and headset, find the space to set it up because the cost of entry is still far too high.

VR to me looks a bit unwieldy still as well as being quite expensive. It's only a matter of time. Same as all technology. I remember when PC's and mobile phones were for rich people.
Well the headsets are getting lighter and losing the wires. I could wear my CV1 for hours, no problem. As for the price, it's new technology. In just a few short years things have changed a lot. It will only get better.VR to me looks a bit unwieldy still as well as being quite expensive.
My apologies I should have removed your name from the phrase. It was intended as a general point not specific to yourself....or possibly by someone extracting and manipulating the inference of a few words in another post taken totally out of context.
That’s what about 1 headset to every thousand people given that some here have bought at least two.Over 10 million headsets sales later, I suspect VR has proven itself as more than just a passing bandwagon.
One more DCS spam and I'm off, listen to what Growling Sidewinder says about DCS 2.5.6 and how it feels flying in VR.

I hope ps5 does make VR mainstream. I can think of a few non game uses for VR technology. Imagine a Virtual classroom where people can be educated in a classroom by a real teacher from home in VR. Schools would require significantly less funding and school shootings would be gone. Thats just one application but im sure more informed persons could change the world with ideas like thisUnless PS5 makes VR mainstream, I can't honestly see joe public go out, buy a top end PC, GPU and headset, find the space to set it up because the cost of entry is still far too high.
That I don't doubt. VR has seen a few false starts, this time I think it is here to stay.Well the headsets are getting lighter and losing the wires. I could wear my CV1 for hours, no problem. Good question. It could have been either/both. Either way HMD's got sold to play it, so for those who bought it for Half Life, VR didn't put them off. And those who already had VR, liked the look of Half Life. But was it popular because it was Half Life, or VR? What was the draw?
No you weren'tMy post isn't about VR it's about changing genres from a space fighter to an FPS. I don't have VR, and I've always believe it would fail as a niche, and I was right.
Biggest problem for me with VR in ED is lack of sight on keyboard and controllers etc. It's enough to drive me back to using an EdTracker instead...Well the headsets are getting lighter and losing the wires. The developer should consider the investment people make both in time and money towards their game, yes.But its a game, not a long term contract to have the same features. If you build your PC around one game then thats on you, not the developer surely?
