Edit: I know your views on this. "It's only a small part of the game, you still have Horizons" or words to that effect. Out of touch and totally selfish.

I usually don't call out FDev partly because it has been done before, but mostly because until now there was some reasonable doubt as to whether they were behaving unethically.

I am not a new CMDR. I have about 1.5k hours in Elite Dangerous alone, 100% in VR, always in Open. I have fought as part of the Eravate Defense Network, I have fought for my squadron in the PvP League Tournament, I have well over a billion in assets, I have multiple fully engineered PvP capable ships, I have shot down CMDR Harry Potter, and I rename my ships with their current Open PvP kill tally.

I also am one of the very few with a pre-production Pimax Vision 8kX. I wrote the spreadsheets to optimize the resolution settings for Elite Dangerous as well as DCS World.

When I said "new", I was thinking to the Cmdrs on the forums of course and the old discussions in the years 2012-2018. :)

I know what you meant. I am aware. Of the things that were before my time in Elite Dangerous, I have learned of them through insightful conversations with other players.

They have a reason to continue to post, trying to convince Frontier to change the 'error of their ways'. Why those who are unaffected by the removal of the expected support continue to post is a bit more of a mystery.

Or to maybe convince some players it is finally time to abandon the sinking ship.

Perhaps when Odyssey is released, we can gather in the social hubs (maybe round a roaring fire) and tell tales of the many battles fought not only in the black, but in the four-rum. Tales of heroes and villains, while the ghosts of those who can not be there hover around.

Alyx , palov VR, support VR - so fps is possible.
In futur, many title will support VR, it's a beginning.
Asobo and microsoft are listening, and they make VR top priority. (flight simulator 2020)


But at this time, (and since 2016) i play in ED, for VR. I can't say frontier i will not buy, because , I've got life time at the beginning. So they've already got my money.
so no VR for me mean :
  • Outside of space games, nothing changes for me, Alyx, Palov.
  • in the space games, since no more VR, well I would go to make a turn on SC to see beautiful planets elsewhere, because in 2D Elite Dangerous is not the best. for many of us (VR users) we are in ED because no alternative. and we've turned a blind eye to a lot of problems because of that. but in 2D, we have plenty alternative !
