Newcomer / Intro Building a Type 9

The python build i have so far is quite decent...but I think i wanna do more. Am thinking of mining using a Type 9. Have my base build here. What do you guys think?
P/s - as I am handling a beast of a ship, would strongly want to have my docking computer there...

I would change it slightly to this
A rating the limpet controllers gives them more range and a longer timer.
Swapping the size 5 collector with the shield gives you a less marginal shield and puts the collector in the right sized slot.
I don’t do PowerPlay so have no experience of the mining lance but if range is their only advantage then the combination with the size 2 mining laser is a bit of a waste.

In the future you should engineer for jump range and work out what to change to fit a Guardian FSD booster.

There's a fair chance that you'll get blown up by an NPC and lose your night's work. It's not so easy to win the interdiction game with a T9, so you'll get pulled out sooner or later. Those weapons aren't going to do anything against an interdicting pirate. That's if you can even turn to point at it. With such a low boost speed, you've got no chance of out-running anybody, so your only chance is tank incoming fire until you can hi-wake to another system. The build you have is not tanky enough. As soon as your shields are down, they'll get your thrusters, which will have you looking at the rebuy screen shortly after. You need to have a clear strategy of how to deal with that situation. Some people are happy using a T9.

You can get a Cutter in a day now, which is ten times better than a T9. The problem now is getting it all done before the nerf, which I think is tomorrow. If I were you, I'd stick to my winning formula until then. After that, you can figure out what's best, but I think the days of filling a T9 with LTDs in an evening will be over, at least in the short term.

Did you read the recent thread about the guy that went out mining LTDs in a T9. He made it back to the station, only to get jammed in the slot. Just saying!

Hi all, just an update - i think i am not suited to fly the jumbo T9 for mining! It was just too clunky for me and the overall experience was...crap compared to my previous python build. Will be building a python mining ship instead - https://s.orbis.zone/77ik

Oh well, guess I will mark this down one in my ED experience book. Perhaps the T9 is more suited for more experienced pilots...or em' space truckers!

Cutter!!!

hows the maneuverability for the Cutter compared to the Conda?
I have one of every ship and for a large ship I much prefer the Cutter. Mine is pretty engineered but I find it very nimble for mining, given the amount it can haul. I moved up from a mining Python as wanted more space. Has enough hardpoints that I can have mining lasers and still carry decent weapons to deal with pirates. And it has more personality than an Anaconda!
