I am a huge fan of many of the Homeworld designs; beautiful strong ships designs.
I did like the Vaygr capital ships very much. The destroyer, the battleship and the mothership are beauties.
But almost all designs have their own beauty: the Somtaaw archangel class dreadnaught for example, or the Great Harbor ship of Bentus, or the Taiidan Heavy Cruiser Qwaar-Jet.

I know of no other game series with so many beautiful, perfect spaceship designs.

The Homeworld capital ships I mentioned have real presence. They inspire awe. Much more so than the cruisers in ED, I have to say. That is just my personal taste of course.


In movies I like the iconic Star Destroyer from Star Wars very much. I still remember the first time I saw that Star Destroyer Devastator on screen in pursuit of the Tantive IV Blockade Runner, also a great design.
Star Wars is filled to the brim with great ships of course.

Did you know that film was an adaption of Seven Samurai? also I was going to add a ship from that film but couldn't find a pic of it and memories so fuzzy I can't remember the name of it.

Although my favorite ships are more from books than movies, and don't have good images. Like Niven's "The Lying B**tard" from Ringworld, or "Nostalgia for Infinity" from Reynold's Revelation Space series.

The ARC170 from Star Wars. Love the "world war II in space" feel to it.
