Newcomer / Intro Heat exchangers wanted.

Howdy Cmdrs, hope everyone is wearing COVID masks, being cautious as well as avoiding the morons, looting, pillaging and plundering.

I've been hunting down Heat Exchangers for the last 2 days. I've been looking for em according to the info on INARA. Degraded Emissions in Anarchy systems. I've look in these systems that have only planets, mixed with gas giants and none at all. Then I tried lo-sec systems. You'd think by now I would have hit the nail on the head at least once. I HAVE NOT looked at signals past 10,000ls (yawn)
This leads me to only one conclusion......I'm not doing something right, looking in the wrong place or INARA got the info wrong.

I thought of that. Went to Dave's hope after the update, poof! Like so many sites it was gone. I don't know if FD has applied a PS4 patch since then.
BUT it's only 4 jumps away, so it won't be a waste of time checking.

I find Inara's information about where to find materials to often be out of date or based on hearsay.

If you want heat vanes, heat exchangers and the like, you need to shoot trade ships - T6s, T7s, T9s, etc. Anarchy systems are great for this (nav beacons, resource extraction sites, interdictions) as are Powerplay haulage vessels, since there are no cops to kneel on the back of your neck while you suffocate.

Well shoot, I was looking so forward to looting Bass Pro Shops, even though they weren't the ones on my neck.
I've never went pew pew on any trade ships. But from videos I've seen, it takes a mammoth effort to bring down a T9 with engineered pulse Lazers and stock multicanonns (which I'm trying to get the stuff to engineer).
But i do need some pew pew time, so I'll go after the 6s and 7s then see how I do.

I should have been keeping up with news and announcements. By the end of the day Wednesday FD had fixed the bug and missing sites.
I just landed at Davs Hope. IT WAS AN ANNOYING TRIP!
There's like 10 FCs here, one of which is Federal Navy. Why they're present I don't know. FCs are indestructible. Buuuut when I jumped in they interdicted me. On my way to A5 they interdicted me. When I was entering the blue line, they interdicted me. NEVER ONCE SCANNED ME. Dern bugs!

Were you in Open?
There's three places you should only go to in Open if you agree to PvP. Dav's Hope is one of them.

FC does not interdict.

There is no "Federal Navy" FC:

As Para said Fleet Carriers don’t Interdict, they can’t you have to be flying in supercruise to interdict someone and FCs can’t fly anywhere they just jump.

Given the right system states the various navies randomly interdict ships then do little or nothing about them so that is pretty normal. The not scanning thing is a long-standing bug or omission which doesn’t cause harm so is probably a long way down the fix list.

OK, I already had more than enough Proto Heat Radiators to trade for at least a thousand Heat Exchangers from farming HGEs. Found a trader and got twice what I needed. I'm sure I'll use em again.
