I dont feel mislead and I do feel hopeful that while it may never include everything it will grow and get even better than it is now, which is playable and immersive for me and is better than I expected.
Why didn't Chris at first admit that Sandi was his wife? She's on the payroll so that matters. They've said they want 100 star systems. They don't have one complete one yet. Not a single planet or moon is on the roadmap. Why? Why is SQ42 six years late?

Afaik, you can only pay dividends from profits. Money you pay before interest and tax is cost and cost has to be for something in return.
You're correct on both counts.

Percentage payments on revenue can still be paid to the Calders regardless, they would be accounted as a business expense instead (e.g. "marketing"). This also means that such payments can be hidden within CIG's annual financials brochure.

Perhaps due to a personal twinge of conscience? That said carnal knowledge would leave SC disciples completely nonplussed gobsmacked by the blatant nepotism he the CIO/CEO/CTO was displaying? By blatant pimping of executive level positions to all competent (and unqualified) family members? Especially since his brother Erin held a senior executive role and is on the Board of Directors?

Or perhaps he wasn't too keen on alerting the fan base to how many more millions he was racketeering siphoning re-allocating legally embezzling from backer investment to develop and manage the game?

What the hell has that lot got to do with playing a game and enjoying the experience? Besides the crapfest of bugs I totally ignore the politicking of this crapshow.

Replying to a comment about flying pixel spaceships with "But he lied about Sandi!" Is certainly one for the lulz bucket. Most of us who do play a bit of Star Citizen don't really care that much...Chris Roberts is nothing better than a conman, a laughable one at that...but we already know this. I'm sure that with the amount of poring over every detail of Star Citizen as you do...considering you've never been fleeced one single cent in all of it... you could have come up with something a bit more original.

Still feels important somehow ;)
I already knew that long before I bought into Star Citizen... still don't care any more than I care that EA is the evil empire and I should feel guilty playing any of their titles...I don't...I even have Origin access premier ;)

It's only important as a piece of general Star Citizen trivia...one of the many millions of such throw away bits of useless information. It's not really of great import if you're like me and have already bought in knowing this for a number of years beforehand...It maybe helpful for some wandering naive sucker that has never heard of Star Citizen, is a compulsive impulse buyer and still hasn't spent any cash revitalising Chris Roberts Hollywood fund...

I don't see that many of them on this section of the forum though so therefore it's just preaching to the choir ;)

I think FD's latest reveal will really push CIG to add features and game play at an accelerated rate.
This will in all likelyhood mean SC will be in it's most broken state just as Odyssey releases.
CIG is unfortunately far too busy trying to get Squadron 42 completed, and Theaters of War into not-a-hot-mess.

Talking of Theaters of War, this trailer's cool:

@ECity may correct me if I am wrong but I suspect the point he was trying to pass with those token facts was twofold: That the CIG team composition and competence to reasonably deliver this has always been compromised starting from the top (this goes way beyond Chris Roberts wife) and that as a business they can’t be trusted. You may be aware of that, and probably fully know by now the “seeds” CIG planted are rotten. But @Ca$hback has just arrived allegedly and seems to suffer from some typical new arrival misconceptions and dreams.txt.

I'll always maintain Chris Roberts is a genius- he has created more than a game (well, semi game)......we have a real time soap opera with A list stars, court drama, war drama (cultists v norms), art exhibit JPEGs, intrigue.....its a phenomenon. If it fails, it will generate books and debate, if it goes ahead it will generate just as much debate.

So does that make ToW "dead on arrival"? What is Star Citizens special sauce to go against this thing? Or is SCs ToW considered to be the poor mans version?

Also....I admit that I have participated in blatant trolling on that trailer comment section. I can see Sovapids motivation ^^

Crowd funding seemed like a great idea at the time. It gave an illusion of control to the 'backer' and removed any vestige of financial responsibility from the developers. How it's still working now is a bit more of a mystery.

Everybody knows that drugs and alcohol or smoking is bad for you. Yet you see people consuming them for various reasons. They think they got it under control or "figured out". They disregard reality and dismiss scientific facts and they often become agressive when you try to protect them from their own self-destructive behavior.

I mean.....the similarities are pretty obvious. These people are on the hook and cant/wont let go. Till the very end.

Gullibility certainly is a factor but same as cartel money lenders....you go to the mafia to borrow some money because you are desperate and you wont get it anywhere else. You will get your fix but you ll either be on the run, dead or paying through the nose to settle your debt.

The PU is the "fix" and Star Citizens ongoing development is "paying through the nose". And I guess the best people can hope for is an average sufficiant game (and even that is uncertain) yet they paid for the BDSSE. Its great if you talk to or run into individuals who understand the nature of the project and acknowledge its risks and potential value. But most of them are generally known as heretics or haters and even here in this thread some are still struggling to face reality or outright deny it.
