Your favourite specialised ships, role and load-out?

I’m really interested in what’s possible and which ships can fit certain roles, and the load-outs best suited to their various roles.

What are your best, favourite or most loved load-outs CMDR?

I guess EDshipyard loadout info would be most useful, but whatever is easiest.

Fer de Lance for PvP combat 🙏

My current loadout if I want to do serious PvP. I'm a gimbal scrub and I don't like SCBs, so my current build uses two HRPs to continue the fight on
full evasive 033 pips as soon as my prismatics fail (which will take an eternity)

Anaconda
for PAX transport

My loadout to do passenger sightseeing tours from Carcosa to Jaques.
Armed and shielded in case of targets of opportunity :sneaky:

Python for scan&cargo missions

192 tons of cargo space, utilizing a fast recharge biweave to do several scan missions in a row, good enough shields & weapons to
kill 4 mission target Anacondas in a row. Guilty of used in reverski against NPCs

Phantom & Asp for exploration (D rated for most items)
DBX as a bubble taxi
Courier for giggles and silent running forever play
3 cutters(fighter, miner, hauler)

So help a brother out here. My krait (ill post the build later) does light cargo sourcing/ delivery, salvage, hijack, and non wing assassination / all massacres. As part of that build i have a slf... but I'm really tempted to sub this all out for a python, on which i can fit repair/ refuel limpets for scenarios as well.

Does that seem reasonable? It relies on shields being tough and i forget how tough the kraits works shields are by comparison..

Courier for scan missions bc of awesome engine sound and agility. No real legs needed (Ly jumps) bc just pay the cheap fee to bring ship to me.

Python for everything other than most extreme combat, bulk trade, or exploration because it is that OP. With general multi role load out as base, can switch my favorite ship to mining, missions, all pads cargo, sourcing, etc runner with quick swaps of some weapon and internal slots.

Anaconda for all the pure speciality roles I want to do at (for me) upper end of min max range - combat hasrez or cz, bulk passenger short or long range, bulk cargo long or more towards longer range than medium LY

Cutter - short and medium range bulk trade or cargo or sourcing missions, combat build when I want change of pace from combat anaconda, and of course the 1 run power play hauling to requalify when I need to buy prismatic shields.

FGS - all MC load out with pair of dumb fire missiles for the love of daka when i just want to have fun with skimmer ground attack missions. pay is absolute junk and the bounty systems still makes no sense but it’s fun....and I still play for fun > credits

FSD interdictor is mostly useless - can be replaced with anything else

Edit: i started with this build - but eventually i altered as needed.
Stacking various missions types then doing multple missions of the same type at a time was the main reason

Courier - gank immune; solid shield & hull defences, twin reverb torpedos and one packhound rack - 850m/s boost speed, 650m/s (possible in reverski too so you can smile those who interdicted you politely in the face), great fun to fly and still stings like a hornet if it wants to. Used it for light piracy in Borann for a while, including installing a refinery and collector limpet for mining fragment nicking off player miners.

Courier - exploration build, despite an SRV bay still boosts to 750m/s so don't need a big ship with SLF for canyon runs. Jumps 45ly and looks the part while doing so.

Keelback - 64t cargo, Tritium miner outfit. Never really found a proper purpose/reason to own this ship, but that has changed now. It feels just right in this role.

Cobra Mk3 - sporting the Raider kit, it's my dedicated piracy and installations/megaship-shenanigans ship. All necessary limpets, manifest scanner and FSD interdictor, the works.

Eagle Mk 2 - ~700 m/s boost, varying weapons loadout (currently cytoscramblers + multicannon), used for conflict zones, bountyhunting, mission running - 28ly jump range, with Fuel scoop and DSS make some minor exploration possible, no SRV though in the standard outfit. Most fun to fly of all ships (subjective of course)

These have been my most used ships in recent months. I'm not a hardcore outfitting expert and some of the loadout choices may seem eccentric but they work for me. :D

1) High/Haz Res & CZ Bounty Hunter warship. Used a lot recently gaining combat elite rank. (I hardly use the collector limpets but they're there for when I have a short break - shield regen, etc - so I can pick up some mats from dead ships while I'm waiting)

Federal Corvette - Excalibur

2) Materials Hunter/Gatherer. This one also swaps out into an armed miner quite easily and was instrumental in getting trade elite rank.

Anaconda - Fortune And Glory

3) Explorer. This is probably the ship I spend most my time in and I'm back in it now that I've got all my recent elite rank obsession out of the way.

Krait Phantom - The Seeker

Special mention. Although the Phantom is mostly my go to explorer now (mostly), it wasn't the ship that I used to get the explorer rank, that was my venerable AspX which I still take out for those more "Canonny" tin-foil hat research missions now and then, and sometimes just when I get tired of the Phantom's totally OTT boost sound! :D

Asp Explorer - Quia Scientiae

My favourite used to be my turret Cobra Mk4 i used for combat zones, but it became largely useless after FD turned CZ ships into bullet sponges :(

My current favourites are my 8x SRV Federal Dropship, my racing Viper Mk3 and my trade Clipper.

Reckless driver, huh?

Fwiw, i find fsd interdictor only useful for wing assassinations/wetwork jobs where the target won't interdict you, and the uss is far away.
