VR support 'not at launch' for Odyssey

If they're having problems implementing spaceless with VR, why not use this instead? Even the video shows an example of it's potential on space sim games as it is showing NMS... best thing is this only starts at $699 when it launches kickstarter! I'm definitely backing this.

It's not elite, but it's looking like I won't have much choice soon, furthermore I can't get the motivation to log in now really. If am going to have to stop playing soon anyway there doesn't seem much point now <sigh>

Indeed. I'm dismayed that it seems further VR support at best is going to be nothing more than an afterthought by Frontier, after it was very much championed early on. And whilst I'm not sure on the demographic of VR users, there appears to be a lot of us that have been around since before release playing ED with VR, and I personally feel very much urinated on from a great height, because of the lack of commitment to VR by them now.

But Braben has said it is niche, so niche it will be. Given he touted how much of a game changer Kinetic would be, I am not taking his comments with anything other than a bucket of salt. Stuffs things up for us VR gamers, but I doubt he gives a monkeys.

Looking good. Especially if the asteroid debris is like that in game!!!

I am still blown away by FD's decision. I wonder what today's DBOBE would say to his past self when they made the no-VR decision (pressumably a couple of years ago, around the time he made his contraversial "VR is good BUT..." statement). In DBOBE's defence, we know VR has come an awful long way since then but there was no way for him to know...

Defo getting SW:S, esp as they have confirmed HOTAS and that you can play both sides. I am not too bothered but I know everyone who visits will want to play it!
I am hoping it comes with some shader options. I get why they want the cartoony look but I like the look of the space battles of New Hope. I think fairly subtle changes would make a massive difference.
