Pesonally I can only play 1st person, I avoid all 3rd person only games.
I hope Legs is first person, happy if there is a option for 3rd but won't be using that view.

What's my view?... the one where the lil' dude (that represents me) ain't obscuring my view of the gameworld...

First person all the way! if it's only 3rd person then I don't play.

I prefer first, but if they do include an option for either, hopefully the weapon reticle is disabled for weapons in third person so we're not all forced into third person to be competitive in combat. Sort of like the current ship camera now.

How does it do that? None of the camera angles are from a 3rd person playing perspective - it shows walking and ships flying from a cinematic camera view, and from the release... "Experience intense first-person combat"

According to Frontier's previous videos, we already have 3rd person gameplay

Also external drones will be in game too as it's not only in the lore but is present in litterly every ED book I've read.

That's my working assumption also. I will only be mildly surprised if they also offer a full over-the-shoulder 3rd person view ala No Man's Sky, though.

Yes it is, due to the distance players are from the screen consoles tend to use a more cinematic camera. Most first-person shooters come from PC gaming while most third-person shooters are designed for consoles. Many use both, and they tend to be games that are on both PC and console. Third-person gaming didn't start on consoles but that's where it became popular.
