Hardspace Shipbreaker: space salvage corporate slave sim

Tempted but haven't pulled the trigger just yet. Bit pricey for what would likely be just an occasional toy for me, but I love the premise.

I've stuck it on my wish list...for some reason it intrigues me. I'll wait a bit and see how it goes when they add a bit more... but I can see myself as a space scrappie :)

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I picked this up yesterday since I couldn't resist. Have to say, it's quite good so far. I've only played about an hour or so but I'm hooked. There's something quite relaxing and satisfying about it. The game has a lot of character, that's for sure.

You've convinced me :)

Never heard anything about this game 'til now, will definitely give this a go.

I love these kind of 'low-key hero' games, where you're not some messianic character saving the universe. Could be interesting to see if/how the game progresses as you play on.

I'm enjoying this game, however I'm still confused as to how is the best way to chop the back side of the ships and their sides too... any pointer? I mean the way I do it is to cut the inside walls of the ships and then get inside their sides and cut those joints... on the other hand cutting the back requires you to cut the joints on the rear thrusters from outside of the ship?

Got Satisfactory this weekend. It wrecked all my week end and is really a time killer. So I decided to wreck myself some more with the shipwrecker. It resonates with me. I really like the dynamic music system. The muzak is not really my cup of tea but it drives home regardless. I like the puzzly part so far too.
What I don't like is that I can't edit the control scheme. I seen you can latch onto objects but don't know how.

Already did blow up some stuff in career.

Mackerel? Top and bottom dislodge. Front and aft joints. Then the parts should come free. The hull nanocarbon are chunky and tetheres go well with them.
I usually go for reactor first though.

What can go wrong? I cut a thuster fixture in a class 3 mission. The whole thing kaboomed. Well, I did it to get familiar with class 3 - but not so fast. Meanwhile I became somewhat seasoned with class 2 and just chucked the interior frame to foundry for full recycling (had it left over most of the time) - it's not much profit, but every bit helps.
Getting a couple of crashes - 3 so far in different situations. Not too bad but could need some fixing from their side.

1 bn indebtedness. I'm not know to grind happily. But since this is a free form game I can pick up any time again - who cares when the immediate gear progression is OK? In fact the whole thing sets the stage and immersion quite well. It's EA, so I hope they do some work with the writing - so far I like being little cog with ridiculous debt and cutting million dolla ships to pieces while the corp tries to squeeze every credit outa me they can.

The Gecko is kinda far back in the berth - I lost both port and starbord nano hull plate chunks as they got sucked into the foundry. Apply tethers liberally, the foundries are hungry monstrosities. I haven't yet figured a streamlined workflow yet, but it's good practice to tackle ECU and piping first. I tend to blow up stuff if I don't remember to do that first. Then maybe gut the underside and make way for the innards to the barge. Anyway, cutpoints to front should be fine without any piping there. Actually I don't really cut very much - mostly going for cut joints and then janking stuff into the gaping mouths of the berth.

Isn't indebtedness just a flavourful red herring? I thought they just put it there with a ludicrous sum to convey the slave wage condition, not as an actual target.

It's seemingly the last alternative with an inbox overflowing with payday notices and a father needing medical treatment. And then there is the intro video with the girl wishing her daddy would come home. Red herrings or not - for a believable setting a bit of flavour narration can do wonders. "I'm hard-working daddy and I'm gonna return back home with millions" does the trick just fine. And the gameplay is fun in itself. Once the rule out the frequent crashes.

The most recent patch fixed support for other resolutions. It was fairly badly broken at 21:9 resolutions for me (big black blob took over the screen after a few minutes gameplay) but is working great now.
