The latter. I think the heaviest concentration I've seen is 39% in a single 'roid, but I can't confirm that. The more overlap, the greater the likelihood of finding 'roids with good concentrations and SSD's.Ok thx. So even for a triple hotspot you can't expect to get more than 20-30%? Is there actually a difference between single and triple hotspots regarding the LTD share in one asteroid, or are there just more asteroids with LTDs in them?
I am unsure about the recent changes by fdev and how it impacts this. The latter. I think the heaviest concentration I've seen is 39% in a single 'roid, but I can't confirm that. The more overlap, the greater the likelihood of finding 'roids with good concentrations and SSD's.
They changed SSDs during the beta which dropped the number of fragments to one from around 2-3, that got fixed too well and the number went much higher, though I can't remember how high, so in the patch the number of fragments was dropped by 25% to whatever you get now.I am unsure about the recent changes by fdev and how it impacts this.

Where are you mining? The highest I snapped tonight was 38.69% - lots of >30% around - I was able to ignore anything under 25% and still had to abandon a large number of limpets.
All RNG of course.

Nice, I mined there on the weekend. But missed probably the triple hotspot. Still not really sure how to make sure to hit the tiny triple region. Mostly had only 15-25%, very few 30%I am topping up the squadron FC's credits by mining in the triple at Col 285 Sector CC-K a38-2 - I only do a single python session per day - just about an hour - then get on with enjoying other stuff using a different account.

I think you have to have a DSS installed on the ship you are using.
System data is stored on your current ship and transfers when you do, it can be lost if your ship is destroyed before selling the data. Materials and encoded data are linked to you the commander so aren’t lost with the ship but aren’t strictly universally stored as they are only available where you are.Yup. Experimented by switching between ships that have it and those that didnt. Pretty stupid imo. Everything else we scan, system, etc, is data stored over all our fleet. Heck, even materials are universally stored. Why not a scanned ring.
